Reminder-Sanborn Central will not have school Friday March 18th due to Spring Break.  Elementary and Middle School Report cards will be sent home on Monday, March 21st.

Wednesday, March 16th at 2:00 SAAG Toby Russell of the SD Division of Criminal Investigation will be presenting information regarding Internet Safety and predators to grades 6-12 at 2:00.  Parents are welcome to attend.

We will not run eligibility until Thursday, March 31st due to the start of the new quarter.

WWTS in Artesian at (3:45-5:30)

High schoolers your shirt order forms for prom are due by 3:15pm tomorrow.

The Middle School Lock-In will be held on March 17th from 3:30-6:30.  Coronation will take place at 6:00.

Letters regarding 2022-2023 preschool and current preschool student assessments will be sent to families during the 1st week of April.

Please turn in all basketball uniforms (jh, jv and v) to Mrs. Henriksen or Mr. McCain as soon as possible.  

There will be a Root Beer Float day for the junior prom fundraising on Thursday, March 17.  More information will be coming home with students this week.

The juniors are asking for donations of clear, glass Mason jars preferably with lids to use for decorating.

Music
March 23rd some of the HS students will partake in a large group music fest in Mitchell.  Student that will be gone for the day are Teagen M, Alex S, Bryce L, Caleb K, Evan E, Payton U, Dana S, and Dayton E.

March 29th students that will be gone for the elementary band festival in Michell are as follows.  Chloe S, Kaidence F, Ramsey F, Landree Z, Carley E, Brooklyn L and Sean B.

One Wednesday March 16th rehearsal will be at Woonsocket, so I will need the students released at 9:30 to grab their instruments.  Thank you.

Tuesday March 23rd. Woonsocket Students will leave for SC at 9:40  Sanborn Central students will leave class at 9:50 for rehearsal.  Rehearsal will conclude at 11:05 so SC student can go to lunch. Woonsocket students will return by 11:15. This means students will miss 2nd period these days. These students are:

Extra Curricular
Spring sports pictures will be held at Woonsocket on Wednesday, March 30th.

They will be using a "green" screen background so pics will be in the gym.  Order Envelopes will be handed out by the coaches (I should be receiving them soon)

Upcoming Assembly: NAMI "End The Silence"
There will be an assembly for middle school and high school students on Monday, April 11th. MS will be held at 12:45 and HS at 2:00.  Guest speakers from the National Alliance of Mental Health (NAMI) will be here to present a 50-minute presentation that includes mental health warning signs, facts and statistics and how to get help for themselves or a friend. Research has shown that NAMI Ending the Silence for Students is effective in changing middle and high school students’ knowledge and attitudes toward mental health conditions and toward seeking help.

Community

The Mitchell Area Optimist Club is sponsoring a family bowling event Friday, March 25th from 5-7 at the village bowl.  This event is open to pre-K-5th grade and their families.
*this includes 2 games of bowling and shoe rental with pizza, soda & Culvers Custard.  There is not cost to participate in this event, instead they will be accepting donations of peanut butter and jelly that will be donated to the weekend snack pack program.

Saturday, March 26th Iroquois will be hosting a 3 on 3 tournament.  Entry fee is $40 per team and the deadline to register is Monday, March 21st.

Help Wanted-The SC Conservation Office is now taking applications for a tree crew, and fabric installation crew for the 2022 planting season.  This is a rewarding seasonal job.  You must be 16 years of age to apply.  Starting hourly wage is $16 per hour.  Applications are due April 3rd, 2022.  You may pick up an application at 203 W 7th St. Suite 200 at the USDA Service Center Building in Woonsocket.  If you have any questions please contact the District Manager Amanda Waldner 605-651-0795 or 605-796-4476 ext. 3 or stop by the office.
