Parents and students, in celebration of Spring break there will be no school on Friday, March 12th or Friday, March 19th. In addition to our March no school day's, there will be a no school on Thursday, March 18th. Wednesday, March 17th staff that has chosen to receive the Covid-19 shot will have the option to do so.

Girls B-Ball State B-(Huron)-Sioux Falls (Class AA at Pentagon), Watertown (Class A), and Huron (Class B) will serve as hosts to the 2021 SDHSAA State Girls Basketball Tournaments on March 11-13. Enjoy some basketball action as all games will be televised on SDPB stations and also livestreamed on the SDPB website.

March 8th to May 7th is the testing window in which students in grades 3-8 and 11 grade will be taking the state assessment. The purpose of the letters below is to help in your understanding of the assessment, as well as providing a few ideas for improving your child's preparedness.

Teachers the following students that will be gone for FFA competition on Wednesday March 17th and Monday, March 29th. These are graded, so eligibility will not pertain to these events. Students that will be absent are; Casady Dean, Keaton Fridley, Kenlie Fridley, Brooklyn Johnson, Harley Kneen, Brady Larson, Malorie Mattke, Mason Moody, Cassidy Slykhuis, Kody Slykhuis, Averie Johnson, and Jared Edwards.
It's beginning to look a lot like...track season. High school track practice will start Monday, March 15th with the first meet taking place at Sunshine Bible Academy (Miller) on April 1st. Track Schedule

The next combined band rehearsal will take place Tuesday, March 16th at SC for 8th-12th students.

Boys State applications are open to all juniors and seniors for the 2021 session! Boys State will be held May 31-June 4 on Northern State University's campus. Applications are due May 1. Please see Mrs. Foxley with questions about how to apply.

Join us for a Fish Fry/Chili Feed and Silent Auction on March 14th @ 2pm at Jake’s in Letcher in support of John Baysinger. (family of Cooper Goldammer)
John was diagnosed in December with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He has completed chemo treatments locally and will be traveling to Mayo Clinic on March 15th to meet with surgeons. Proceeds from the day will be given to John to assist with expenses. Donations for the Silent Auction can be made to Jen Fouberg, Steve Zoss, Jerilyn Moody, Stacy Zoss, Marli Baysinger, and Lacy Bechen. There may be some interest in creating a teeners baseball team, so we need to see how many players we have that are interested in playing. Please fill out the letter of interest form and return it to your school by Monday, March 15th. Once we have determined if there is or isn't enough interest we will follow up with more information. Forms will be going home with boys in grades 7th-10th, and can be printed with the following link.
The first soccer practice will be Tuesday, March 30th at 5:30 at Sanborn Central. We will have a brief parent meeting at the beginning and you will receive schedules for the year.
