Reminder
– All notes regarding Friday whether you aren’t coming to school, you aren’t
riding the band bus, or you aren’t riding the bus home from the parade are due
today!!!!!! Less than 5 notes have been
received from HS students!!!!

remember to be at school a little early tomorrow as testing begins promptly at
8:15!!!
All
State Chorus auditions will be held at 11:30 in the music room. Those not
auditioning will report to the gym for study hall. Good Luck Everyone!

The Blackhawks were victorious over the Miller Rustlers last
night in Woonsocket. The JH won 22-0 (No scoring summary available).
The JV won 12-0 playing 11 man offense for the first time. Alex
Wormstadt had a 25 yard touchdown run and Landon Wolter threw an 80
yard pass to Wesley Linke for the other touchdown.
HEALTH
SCREENINGS!!!!!! Health screenings for
students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th,
7th, 8th, and 10th will
begin next week. In your packet of forms
there should have been a Parental Notification form. If you do not want your child screened, or
you want them screened but the screening results not released to school
personnel a form need to be signed and returned. If you don’t remember completing the form a
copy of the form can be found at
ACADEMICS
Thursday,
we will do our first eligibility of the year.
All grades need to be posted no later than noon. Please let the office know when you are done
posting! We will begin calling parents
around 1:00 – be sure all your work is in!
Tutoring
has begun – it meets on Tuesday and Thursday after school! See Mrs. Miller for more information.
ATHLETICS
The
VB games with Mitchell Christian will be aired on our Santel Channel 107. The MS Ladies will have a scrimmage prior to
the JV starting at about 5:00.

BAND
Marching
Band - The marching band will not be going to Platte next Friday Sep. 16th.
Instead, we will be having an all day camp at Woonsocket from 9am to 3pm to
finish learning our routine for parade.
5th
Grade- Beginning Band - The 5th grade students have been learning about
the instruments the last few weeks. This week, they will be trying out all the
different band instruments. At the end of the week, I will be sending home a
letter about 5th grade band and what instrument they were most successful on.
Next week
Tuesday Sep. 13th, Dave Williams will be in the Woonsocket for an instrument
showcase from 6pm to 8pm. Stop by and get your student an instrument and then
stick around to support your Blackhawks volleyball!!
HOMECOMING
Sanborn Central Middle School students,
Elementary students, and HS Band will be participating in the Woonsocket
Homecoming parade on September 9th.
If your parents are picking you up following the parade in
Woonsocket, you will need to complete the form (linked below) and return to your
child’s teacher by Wednesday, September 7th. No form –
No exceptions.
High school students will be having activities that
morning. Band students will depart at 11:30 on a bus for
Woonsocket. All band students will be returned to SC by bus after the
parade. Any band student wishing to drive themselves must have written
parental permission slips turned into the office by Wednesday, Sept 7th
at noon. Students car pooling must have written permission from both sets
of parents. Any student planning on not attending school on the 9th
must have written parental permission slips turned in by Wednesday the 7th
or will be issued an unexcused absence.
We have adjusted our lunch schedule for Friday due to
Homecoming: 11:00 Marching band (Alexis,
Dayton, Ellie) and HS, 11:10 6-8, and 11:20 Preschool and elementary.
MS and EL students and staff will board the bus 12:00 for
Woonsocket on Friday.
WANTED: Mrs. Danek is in search of a steamer (to use on bride maid
dresses) that she could borrow for a few days this week. Candi.danek@k12.sd.us
Don’t
forget!!!!!! On Wednesday,
September 7th,
2016, Sanborn County Food Pantry, in partnership with Feeding South Dakota,
will be hosting a truckload food giveaway in Woonsocket, SD. An estimated
22,000 pounds of food will be distributed beginning at 5 PM and continuing until all of the food is
gone. There are no restrictions of eligibility – just one box per family!
