The 2016
Volleyball Season is currently underway.
The high school girls have been practicing for over a week and the
junior high girls joined in on the first day of school. As we are getting our final numbers down
(about 40 girls) we have decided to hold high school practice and junior high
practice in opposite gyms. We also
thought this situation would be the perfect time to get our 6th
grade girls some volleyball experience.
This experience would be a couple practices a week with the 7th
and 8th graders who are out for volleyball. We would also set up some scrimmages against
themselves and possibly a few other area teams.
These scrimmages would more than likely be held before the high school
matches at our home games. We will only
be having the 6th grade girls practice the month of September as
their basketball season starts after that.
Transportation will also be provided to and from practices at both Sanborn
Central and Woonsocket by Coach Jensen and Mr. Gross (the Vo-Ag teacher).
If your
daughter would like to participate they will need a pair of knee pads. They will start practicing with the 7th
and 8th grade girls on Monday, August 22 in Woonsocket. At that time there
will be a schedule handed out for the rest of the month of September.
I apologize
for the short notice as all of this transpired fairly quickly when we realized
the amount of girls we had out. If you
have any questions please contact Coach Jensen (350-4310) or Coach Olsen.
