Orange Day – Tutoring

Eligibility & MS Updates are due at noon today!

Good Luck to the Lady Blackhawks as they play Wessington Springs in Districts tonight at 6:00!

The Oral Interp team did a great job at districts!  Koby Larson and Quentin Schmidt both received 5th place in their events.  The Reader's Theater (Catherine Bechen, Aaron Stevens, Jami Hanson, and Levi Swearingin) did their best performance and placed 6th in a tough event.  Renee Farmer and Madi Moody advanced to the region meet which will be held Tuesday, November 17 at Mitchell.  Congratulations to everyone on a job well done and you have made us proud!

The staff would like to thank Joyce and Crew for the awesome breakfast this morning!

ACADEMICS

On November 24th, Mrs.  Moody would like to take the freshmen and sophomores to the Sanford Research Lab for a tour and to meet with 2 scientists, one that researches bone cancer and one that researches sports effect on TBI's or concussions.  She is looking for 3 volunteers to transport students.  The volunteers will be a part of the tour and receive lunch.  Please contact her at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us if you are interested in helping out.

ATHLETICS

5/6^th Basketball will practice in Woonsocket today.     HS FB will practice in Woonsocket today.

Game time on Saturday with the Stanley County Buffaloes is 3:30 in Wessington Springs.  We know that KOOL 98 and Q107 will be broadcasting the game

The SC Booster Club is selling stadium chairs just in time for basketball season!  Order forms were sent home with elementary students yesterday.  They can also be found in our Google Drive in the miscellaneous folder.  Orders are due in the office by November 11^th!

FFA

FFA Dues - $20 are payable now

 Monday Nov. 9th is District 4 FFA Leadership CDEs at MTI.  We will be leaving Woonsocket at 1 p.m. and Sanborn Central at 1:15 p.m.  Please let FFA members out 15 minutes before leave time so that they can change into Official Dress.  The FFA District is starting CDEs earlier this year in hopes of not keeping students out so late.   Students attending:   Madi Moody, Jena Hanson, Catherine Bechen, Abby Vermeulen, Tyler Johnson, Garrett Dean, Trent Kingsbury, Trevor Olson

MUSIC

Students: The Blackhawks Band is looking for a design to go on their new trailer!! All designs are welcome. Designs will be due Monday morning Nov. 16th when they will be voted on.

COMMUNITY

Sanborn Central would like to extend an invitation to all area veterans and community members to attend out Veteran’s Day Program at 9:00 am on November 11^th.

The Artesian Veteran’s Day Dinner will be held at noon on November 8^th at the Artesian Community Center.  It is free for Veteran’s with a $10 charge for all others.  The meal will include a pork tenderloin sandwich with all the trimmings.  Please RSVP to Laura Pearson at 495-4290 or Carol Hendrix at 527-2267
