Blue Day

Sanborn Central extends our hearfelt sympathy to Kathy Austerman (long time school board member) and family with the passing of Kathy’s dad, Ted Matya.  

See all the purple - it’s citizenship day at Sanborn Central!  We are sure that our students are some of the best citizens to be found!  Recent recipients of Character Counts Certificates include: Carter H, Bryce L, Sidney S, Toby K, Layton Z, Payton U, Keaton F, Cami E, Layton Z, Miley A, Ian O, Cody R, Zoei S, Evie O, Zoei S, and Aubrey S

Congratulations to Bailey Moody and Tucker Kingsbury who were named the Sanborn Central School Winners for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award which highlights exceptional high school seniors and their achievements in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.  They moved on to the next level of the competition but unfortunately were not chosen as a state finalist. 

HS FB will practice at Woonsocket today.

Varsity VB will practice at Sanborn Central today.  We will play Wessington Springs tomorrow at 6:00pm in Springs in the 2^nd round of Districts – GO BLACKHAWKS!

Thursday and Friday are School Spirit Days – wear your colors proudly!

Sonshine Club meets in Letcher tonight.

There will be a staff appreciation breakfast at 7:45 on Thursday, November 5^th.

ACADEMICS

The first eligibility for this quarter will be pulled at noon tomorrow!   Make sure you aren’t on the list by having everything turned in today!

ATHLETICS

Game time on Saturday with the Stanley County Buffaloes is 3:30 in Wessington Springs.  We know that KOOL 98 and Q107 will be broadcasting the game

The SC Booster Club is selling stadium chairs just in time for basketball season!  Order forms were sent home with elementary students yesterday.  They can also be found in our Google Drive in the miscellaneous folder.  Orders are due in the office by November 11^th!

FFA

FFA dues of $20 are due now!  Please pay Gayle or Mr. Gross.

MUSIC

Students: The Blackhawks Band is looking for a design to go on their new trailer!! All designs are welcome. Designs will be due Monday morning Nov. 16th when they will be voted on. Winner will receive pizza party for themselves and up to 4 friends!! ​ The new design will be unveiled at the Indoor Marching Band Concert Monday Nov. 16th. 

Health

We have had cases of microplasma pneumonia confirmed and of course strep and influenza are in the area.  Please do not hesitate to have a fever or cough checked out.  We want our students at SC to be healthy!

COMMUNITY

Sanborn Central would like to extend an invitation to all area veterans and community members to attend out Veteran’s Day Program at 9:00 am on November 11^th.

The Artesian Veteran’s Day Dinner will be held at noon on November 8^th at the Artesian Community Center.  It is free for Veteran’s with a $10 charge for all others.  The meal will include a pork tenderloin sandwich with all the trimmings.  Please RSVP to Laura Pearson at 495-4290 or Carol Hendrix at 527-2267
