Orange Day
It’s a Great Day to Be a Blackhawk!!!!!!  The Lady Blackhawks beat Arlington last night and are headed to the State B Volleyball Tournament next week!  We will play Northwestern at noon on Thursday in Huron. 

The State T-shirt order form is in the volleyball folder on our Google Drive and is being sent home with elementary students today. Orders need to be back at school on Thursday, November 11th  by 3:00pm please.   Orders will be sent home on Wednesday, November 16th.

Lady Blackhawks - due to your hard work and never quit attitude the VB Coaches have declared today a no practice day.  They want everyone to rest up and stay healthy because you will hit it hard starting tomorrow!!!!  All practices will be held at SC starting tomorrow.  Friday you will practice at 9:00am, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday practices will be held after school.   FYI Coaches and Players - we couldn't be prouder!  Brackets for the State Tourney can be found in the Volleyball Folder on our Google Drive.

7/8th girls will practice at SC today and Woony tomorrow.

Winterguard practice will be at Woonsocket in the commons starting at 3:30pm until 5:30pm today.  Winterguard will be at Sanborn Central from 5:30pm to 7pm tomorrow (11/10). Parent meeting to follow. Please make sure someone in your family is there to attend if you are going to be doing winterguard this year.

WWTS meets in Artesian today.

Confirmation and Sonshine Club meet in Letcher today.

Mr. Siemsen has declared Thursday – November 10th a School Spirit Day!

ACADEMICS
Next week is American Education Week – Monday the 14th is Administration Day – Tuesday the 15th is Teacher Day – Wednesday the 16th is Support Staff Day – Thursday the 17th is Parent & Community Day – Friday the 18th is Student day

Wednesday – November 23rd is our Extra Help Day.  Be checking your parent portal to make sure that all assignments are turned in or plan on being here at 8:00am on the 23rd!!!!

LATI will be visiting on Monday November 14th at 12:00pm and USD will be visiting on Tuesday November 15th at 11:30am
    
Dual Credit applications are now being accepted for the spring semester. There are applications in Mrs. Johnson's office. We need to have all applications sent in prior to Christmas vacation. 

Mitchell High School is offering an ACT prep class on Monday nights starting November 14th - December 5th. The cost is $50. See Mrs. Johnson for details.  You also all have access to free ACT Prep through SD Mylife which has proven to increase test scores by 3 points. See Mrs. Johnson for more info.

MUSIC
A tentative Winterguard schedule has been uploaded to our Google Drive……November 14th has already been moved to Woonsocket.  A parent meeting will be held Keep in mind when viewing this that it is TENTATIVE

A combined band rehearsal will be held next Tuesday (15th) morning from 8:30-9:40 at Woonsocket in preparation for the concert that night.  Bus will leave SC at 8:15

Hi all – We are planning for the Blackhawks March Band Concert with fundraiser next Tuesday, November 15 in Woonsocket.  We have decided to serve a meal prior to the concert…from 5:30-7.  We will be serving both lasagna and tater tot hot dish, along with breadstick, lettuce, bar or cookie and drink.  Free will offering with proceeds to band. We are asking each Woonsocket family to donate either a pan of lasagna or a pan of tater tot hot dish.   We also need donations of a pan of bars or cookies from some Woonsocket families, and invite.  ItJSanborn Central families to help us out in that area if you would like  would be good if the bars/cookies were at the school by noon as well, but no later than 5:00. BOOSTER CLUB
Co-Ed Volleyball at Sanborn Central on Sunday’s. We will start on November 13th and the 20th, then December 4th, 11th and 18th.  It will cost $15 per person. Teams will consist of 3 men and 3 women playing.  If you have a team ready to go, just let me know,   Tambi.wormstadt@fcsamerica.com or 605-770-3077. Or you can talk to any booster club member.  Otherwise if you don’t have a team and would still like to play, come and we will put you with a team if we can.  We will start at 3 pm each Sunday and go until teams have played.  There will be a waiver to sign if you are playing.  Hope to see you there!! 

COMMUNITY
The Sanborn Central High School Student Council will be hosting a Veteran's Day Program on Thursday, November 10th beginning at 9:00 AM.  An invitation is extended to area Veterans (and the public) to attend as this is a day we honor you!

American Education week is November 14th -17th.  November 17th is Community/Parent Day – If you would be willing to read to a class (or know someone who would) please let us know.  Community members/parents are more than welcome.  Call 495-4183 or e-mail mary.ackman@k12.sd.us

From November 12th  to November 27th, any veteran can get a $40 voucher to buy whatever they want in the Goodwill Store...they just need their ID.
