SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS

There are many new staff members at Sanborn Central this year. Mrs. Easton will be a new aide and the high school students will see her in their study halls. Mr. Flatten will teach 7th, 8th and High School Social Studies. Mr. Gross will have the Ag classes for Middle School and High School students. Mr. Kroger is the new band instructor. Mr. Harless is the teacher for the upper grades at Upland, and Ms. Averies is an aide at Upland. Ms. Troth is the counselor who will be at Sanborn Central on Fridays. Mr. Olsen is the technology coordinator.

Blackhawk activity passes for home games are available for sale. A family pass is $80.00, adult pass $40.00, and a student pass is $20.00. Senior citizens are able to attend home games for free. (Regular gate admission without a pass is Students K-12 $2.00 and adult $4.00. Cost for a double header is student $3.00 and adult $5.00).

Mr. McCain is looking for volunteers to help at the football game at Sanborn Central on Friday night, August 31. They need 3 chain gang people, 2 clock keepers and an announcer. TODAY (THURSDAY):

Today is the first full day of classes.

Football practice – Woonsocket 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. (bus leaving Sanborn Central at 4:15 p.m.)

Volleyball practice – Sanborn Central 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Cheerleading practice – Sanborn Central 5:45 – 8:00 p.m.

FRIDAY:

Friday is a School Pride Day. Everyone should dress accordingly.

Individual and class school pictures will be taken on Friday. Students should have their picture envelopes in hand to give to the photographer.

Football practice – Woonsocket 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Volleyball practice – Sanborn Central 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. (team dinner).

Cheerleading practice - Sanborn Central at 5:45 p.m.

Football practice – Woonsocket 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.

MONDAY:

JV and Varsity football and volleyball pictures will be taken after school on Monday in Woonsocket. Football pictures will be at 3:45 p.m. and Volleyball at 5:00 p.m.

Middle School football practice begins on Monday.

WEDNESDAY:

All packet forms are due back at the school no later than Wednesday.

There will be a Community Bridal Shower for Kristen Klinkner on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Parish Hall in Artesian.

REMINDERS:

HELP WANTED IMMEDIATELY: SPED paraeducator starting ASAP at Forestburg. Must meet the highly qualified status (high school graduate PLUS 2 years of any kind of postsecondary OR an associate degree of any kind OR pass the PRAXIS test). Full time with benefits. Calendar change: Due to the recent storm damage at the Sanborn Central football field, the location for the football game on Friday, August 24 has been changed from Sanborn Central to Woonsocket. The game on Friday, August 31 will now be played at Sanborn Central instead of Woonsocket. This swapping of locations will allow more time for repairs at the Sanborn Central field.

The large Athletic Calendars were available at the Back to School Night for families to pick up.  If your family didn't pick one up, and would like one (or know of someone who would like one) please let the office know by Friday, August 24, 2012.  Be sure to thank the many sponsors who provide the school with these calendars.
