  Events for the day
Congratulations to our home town cowboy as he finishes 8th in the average at his first-ever Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Mason has qualified rides in Round 1,5,8 and 9 and finished 11th in the world standings.

Both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams won on the road Saturday vs. Sunshine Bible. The boys reported a score of 72-27 and the girls 56-18. They will be back in action tomorrow vs. Hitchcock-Tulare in Woonsocket.

Hudson Fouberg is offering a splash of color to our school in the North side entryway lobby wall. We are excited to see your mural Hudson and can't wait to see the beauty of a finished result!

The Colony Christmas Concert is Wednesday, December 17th at 7PM

Orange day semester test will happen on Wednesday, on Blue day on Thursday. All required courses will have a semester test. If your high school student is not taking a semester test they must sign in and out of the office during semester testing days. 

Sports pictures will take place on Thursday, December 18th
We will start at 1:30PM.

Notes from Mrs. Gassman
Dear 8th Grade Parents and Guardians,
Mr. Bodden and I are excited to share that we will be taking the 8th graders to the 8th Grade Career Fair in Wagner, SD on Thursday, January 15, 2026. If weather becomes a concern, the backup date will be Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Permission Slips:
I will be sending home permission slips with the students this Thursday, December 4th. These must be signed and returned to me in order for your child to attend. Please return all permission slips by Thursday, December 18, 2025, before Christmas break.

About the Career Fair:
The purpose of the 8th Grade Career Fair is to introduce students to various educational pathways and career options. The fair will feature age-appropriate, hands-on activities designed to both engage and educate students about future opportunities. The event is sponsored by Wagner Community Memorial Hospital–Avera, with some booths in the Camp Med lane provided in collaboration with the South Dakota Department of Health (SDDOH).

The first ball game of the season will be on Saturday, December 13th both the boys and girls will be on the road for basketball at Sunshine Bible Academy. The bus will depart at 10:45

Community
Join the Pony Hills Wrestling Club! A parent meeting will take place December 18th at 6:30PM in the Wessington Springs Elementary Lunch Room.

The Artesian Community Improvement Association will be holding their annual Membership Drive/Ham Drawing on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Artesian Community Center.

Supper will be served at 6:30pm, followed by a ham drawing, Raffle Drawing and a visit from Santa!

Membership dues are $20 per family and go towards summer youth programs and community events.

The Artesian Union Farmhands will be selling their Community Calendars for the 2026 year.
