Welcome to February 1st and day 100 at Sanborn Central! We have lots of elders limping around our hallways today. We're over the hump and if all goes as planned we have 71 more days to put our best foot forward and excel.

We're on a roll! Congratulation to Mrs. Olson-VanWinkle's Environmental Science students Bryce Larson, Payton Uecker, Caleb Kneen, Even Easton, Randy Bitterman, Kaleb Hohn, Erick Melendez, and Attley Tarbox who have pulled home the STATE VICTORY in the Solve for Tomorrow Contest! They were tasks with creating a sustainable solution to a problem in their community and nailed it with the topic of photoelectric sensors to aid in early detection of combine/harvest equipment fires. This victory gives them $12,000 in Samsung technology for our school district.
The students are going to need to put on their thinking caps because the competition is getting steep in this next phase. They will create a video to overview their idea, specifically showing how they are using STEM to create their solution. This will be phase 3 of 5 and they will be competing to be one of the ten National Finalists.
Way to bring home the State Victory boys!
