Students, how are your grades looking?  Today we will run a missing assignment report and e-mails will be sent to parents.  Tomorrow we will run eligibility.

Butter braids will be here today.  Fruit and butter braids can be picked up on Wednesday, Dec 1 after school in the Ag shop.

Join in on the next Booster Club Meeting this Thursday at 7:00PM in the Commons.


Today a U.S. army recruiter will be here at 1:30 pm to talk to junior and senior students who are interested in learning more about joining the Army.


Sonshine Club will take place Wednesday, December 1st and Wednesday, December 8th in preparation for the Church Christmas Program.  No Sonshine Club on Wednesday, December 15th through the month of December.

WWTS will be held today and Monday December 6th from 3:45-5:30-WWTS Church Program will take place Wednesday, December 8th.


Feeding SD will take place today at the Sanborn County Courthouse at 4:30 until gone.  It will be drive through only and is limited to one box per family.  Questions call 796-4516.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Winter Sports Picture Day is Dec. 9
Families may pre-order and pre-pay online for Winter Sports Portraits at this link through the
night before picture day. Simply click on your school event name (look for Winter Sports). You can combine online orders by entering each student’s name when prompted in the beginning.

Looking ahead-Friday, December 10th is Extra Help Day, and only students with Missing Assignments and F's are required to attend.
Wednesday, December 22nd Sanborn Central will dismiss at 11:00 for the Christmas Break, we will not be serving lunch that day, and attendance is optional for MS and HS students.   School will not be in secession December 23rd through January 2nd.

Blue Day semester test will take place Monday, December 20th and orange day testing on Tuesday, December 21st.  High School Students that are not testing will have open campus, with the exception of students with an "F" in any subject.

Community 
The Town and Kountry Kids 4-H Blue Group is holding a hat and mitten drive. Please drop off hats and mittens at one of our locations before December 5th. We will be donating them to community members in need this winter.

Drop off locations include: Sanborn Central and Woonsocket schools, Country pumper, Letcher Community Church, CorTrust Bank Letcher

The Artesian Area WWTS Christmas Program will be held Wednesday Dec. 8th at 6:30 pm at the Artesian First Lutheran Church.  The title of the program is “The Animals’ Christmas, and focuses on the stable animals’ reaction to the birth of Jesus in “their stable”.  The youth will also sing and drum to  “The Little Drummer Boy”.  The highlight of the evening will be the celebration of Jesus’ birthday.  Lunch will be served by the church ladies following the program.  Those participating in the program are:  Paisley King, Kinsley Grassel, Kelly and Cade Wilson, Kiera, Hannah, and Ryder Pollard, Adalie and Nolan Enfield, Owen Austerman, Carlee Spelbring, Alexis and Andi Fridley, Ayden Kaiser, Malori Hoffman, Whitney and Kaylee Adams, Harper and Claire Moore, and Sullivan Licht.  Come and enjoy the true meaning Christmas!  JESUS IS REASON FOR THE SEASON!!

The Letcher American Legion is hosting Santa and Turkey Bingo on Saturday, December 11th. 
Santa comes at 6:30
BBQ & Pie sold at 6:30
Bingo for turkey's at 7:00 (5:00 a card-good for 20 games)

Please encourage your youth basketball players, ages 8-13 years old to participate in the Huron Elks Hoopshoot, a free throw shooting contest, at the Huron Middle School Gym on January 8, 2022. The winners of this competition will move on to the State contest, February 5, in Pierre, SD.
The best part is that it’s; FREE!
It will be open to all participants ages 8-13. Age bracket is based on contestant age as of April 1, 2022.
Girls Registration will begin at 9:00 A.M. Girls will begin shooting at 9:30 A.M. Girls awards will be handed out right after completion of the competition.
Boys Registration will begin at 10:00 A.M. The contest will begin at 10:30 A.M.

The Avon Lady Pirate Basketball Organization is hosting  a jamboree.  There will be 2 divisions for the 3rd & 4th grade girls (in separate gyms) on Saturday January 22nd 2022.  The entry fee will be $40 per team and you are guaranteed 3 games.  No score will be kept and concessions will be available.  For additional questions please contact Brad Poppe for more information or to register a team.  Brad.Poppe@k12.sd.us
