The Blackhawks moved to 5-2 on the season. We eliminated turnovers and played great team football against a quality opponent in Chamberlian. The coaches are proud of the character and unselfishness of this group. All athletes are willing to step into any role asked of them.
The Blackhawks finish up the season vs. a 3-3 Aberdeen Roncalli team. The Blackhawks are assured a playoff spot but need another win to make sure we host a playoff game.
HS practice in Woony 4:00-5:30 pm (Half Pads). Springs' players need to leave by 5:30 to get back for Coronation.
JH Game in Mt. Vernon- 8th Grade game at 4:30 pm followed by 7th grade. Bus will leave Wessington Springs at 3:00 pm and pick up Woonsocket & Sanborn players at 3:15. Sanborn will transport athletes to Woonsocket and leave at 3:00 pm. This will conclude the JH season.
Due to homecoming activities in WS a few 8th grade boys need to be back to Wessington Springs by 6:30. This means we are going to flip the games and the older boys will play at 4:30 followed by the younger boys. This will allow the 8th grade boys to get back in time.
The VB ladies will be traveling to Howard with the bus leaving at 3:00 from SC. Seventh grade will start at 4:00 followed by 8th grade, C, JV and V. View the game from the comfort of your home with NFHS network

Tuesday, October 13th at 9:30 AM the SC Quiz Bowl team will compete with Kimball. Participants: Captain Brighten Hitchcock, Noah Wormstadt, Tryce Slykhuis, Shania Cornelius, & Mason Moody the pod cast will be available on Q107
Due to a disruption in the supply chain for Little Caesar's, they will not be able to fulfull our fundraising order until the end of the month. Any fudge and cheese ordered will still be handed out on Tuesday, October 13, but will now be available at the end of the school day as we are not needing to wait for the pizza delivery. A new date will be distributed for pizza pick up as soon as the company is able to create the product. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Wednesday, Oct 21 Pre-K/8th grade will be invited to a Zoo presentation in the gym in the AM. A more detailed time will follow.

Friday:Varsity Wessington Springs' Homecoming game vs Aberdeen Roncalli in Springs. Kickoff is at 7:00pm. We will also have Senior Night. Senior parents should line up on the track besides the grandstands at 6:45 pm. Order forms will be given to players this week.
All athletes must report to gym by 5:15 pm. If you are an athlete that needs to have an ankle(s) taped, please arrive by 5:00 pm. SC mini bus will leave at 4:20 pm. Woony will leave at 4:30 pm. Water boys should arrive to the gym by 5:45 pm.

White Lake is hosting a Pink Night next Thursday, October 15th, when we host the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket VB team.
There will be a Silent Basket Auction throughout the night. Anybody can provide a basket for the occasion. We are just asking that this year the baskets be wrapped in cellophane and we are not allowing any homemade goodies.
