Congratulations to the Class of 2020!!!
The Sanborn Central Staff would like to congratulate the latest group of students who will be leaving our school to begin the next chapter in their lives.  Also, they would like to welcome the 8th grade students to their next phase of school as they become High School students!

Graduation Ceremonies will be held a bit differently this year with the current state of our society.  On May 30th, at 4 pm, the 2020 graduates will, in front of their parents and siblings in person, and streamed live for all others, will receive their diplomas in the gym at the school.  This year, the 8th grade students will not be a part of the ceremony due to the concerns and regulations regarding COVID-19.  A formal letter of information regarding the 8th grade not being involved with the graduation this year from Mrs. Vermeulen has been sent out today.  Following the presentation of diplomas, the 2020 Graduates will be lined up outside the front of the school where anyone who would like to drive-thru can wish them well, and perhaps even give them a card/gift in a basket that will be on the sidewalk in front of each graduate.

For those who may not be familiar with our graduates and 8th grade students, may we present them here:

Attention all 7-12 grade parents.

Hello parents!

Please fill out this survey regardless of whether or not your student(s) is/are enrolled in a CTE class. CTE classes are taught by Miss. Jessica Ronning. Please see below for more information. If you have questions about this survey, please e-mail jessica.ronning@k12.sd.us

The South Dakota Career & Technical Education Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CTE-CLNA) will gather accurate and objective information so South Dakota school districts and consortiums can implement manageable action processes to ensure their local CTE options provide learners with the knowledge and skills they need to prepare for college, careers, and lifelong learning. LEAs and consortiums will use this information to implement strategies to transform and expand CTE programs so that each learner-regardless of background, age, or zip code-is prepared for career and college success

Thank you!  Miss Ronning

Volleyball Players and Parents:
We are looking at possibly staring open gyms on June 1st.  The open gyms will be in Woonsocket the month of June and SC the month of July.  We will follow social distance protocol by only allowing 10 or less players/coaches in the gym at a time.  As of right now we are planning 2 coaches and 8 players.  Due to large numbers we will arrange groups with set times.  The coaches will make the groups based off the survey results.  We are looking at 45 minute intervals to allow players to leave before new ones arrive.  The open gyms will be on Monday mornings at 9, 10 and 11 and the evenings at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30.  This is subject to change depending on the COVID-19 status in South Dakota.  Please contact dayna.rodriguez@k12.sd.us with questions.

If you have not turned in your basketball uniforms please bring them with you when you check out for the year.  Coach Henriksen
