Orange Day

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Quentin Schmidt!

Nice work cast, crew and Mrs. Danek on your matinee performance yesterday.  Can’t wait for Saturday night at 7:30 for your final production!

Congratulations to Kaylee Adams and Mason Moody – winners of movie certificates sponsored by the Sanborn Weekly Journal.  Everyone who checked out a book during National Library Week last week was entered into the drawing and these two were the luckiest!

No speech today!

Tonight’s baseball games in Canova have been cancelled. No reschedule date will be set. Saturday the JV boys are heading to Dakota Valley for two games. Leave and game times are not finalized. Sunday’s doubleheader in Springs is still on the schedule. A call will be made on Saturday.

JO 16’s & 17’s will practice at 5:30 today in Woonsocket.

The department of Labor will be here about noon to meet with select seniors.

ACADEMICS

The MS Updates for next week have been uploaded to our Google Drive.

Friday, April 27^th is extra help day.  Missing assignment lists will be given to students on Wednesday afternoon (post by noon please).  Thursday parents will be called after 1:00 to let them know if a student needs to attend extra help day from 8:00-11:00.  Get that work turned in!!!!!  Problems – contact Mary at mary.ackman@k12.sd.us

Seniors need to interview a veteran for their final assignment in Government class. A few students are having difficulties finding a veteran in the area to interview. If any of our local veterans could give an hour of their time to one of our seniors to share their personal experiences, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the school 495-4183 or email Mr. Flatten corey.flatten@k12.sd.us if you, or someone you know, is interested.

Mark your calendar for a special night to acknowledge the academic and extracurricular success of the Rebels! We will also be honoring our retirees and their many years of dedication to our district! Awards Night Potluck - May 9th - at 6:00: 6th Salad, 7th Hotdish, 8th Dessert, 9th Salad, 10th Hotdish, 11th Hotdish, 12th Dessert. Families with multiple students – bring the item listed for your oldest.

FFA

April 26th is the final deadline for FFA Chapter Star Applications.

ATHLETICS

We will be attending the junior high track meet on Thursday, April 26 at Bridgewater. The meet starts at 1:30. We will leave Sanborn Central at noon and Woonsocket at 11:45. Sanborn Central will need to leave the meet around 5:00 in order to get back for our spring concert.

We will be attending the junior high track meet on Friday, April 27 at Howard. The meet begins at 12:30. We will leave Sanborn Central at 11:15 and Woonsocket at 11:00.

Our minds are far from “Summer Mode” but thought parents might want the camp dates etc for planning purposes.  JH Players are encouraged to attend the open gyms and work outs.

COMMUNITY

Soccer games for Saturday have been postponed to Saturday, May 12 in Woonsocket.  (Games will be completed in time for people to attend graduation)

The soccer game schedules for April 23^rd & 24^th will be sent home with students today.  Please watch for postponements in the e-news and on the Sanborn Central Soccer Facebook Page, as of Thursday afternoon we still had snow on the fields! The Spring Salad Lunch hosted by the Letcher Auxiliary will be held Saturday April 21 at 11:00 -1:00 pm. Silent auction to be held so bring things you donate if you want.  $5 for adults 12 and under $3.  

The Letcher Legion pancake and sausage feed will now be held Sunday April 22 from 11 to 1:30, free will offering.
