FFA Members- It’s time for fruit sales once again.  Since I am not at Sanborn Central today, I have left the order forms with Mary.  During your free time please see Mary to get your forms.  There are four forms for the four types of items we’re selling.  One for fruit, one for meat and cheese, one for popcorn, and one for butter braids.  Please note that the prices for popcorn and butter braids are not listed on the form.  Butterbraids are $12 and popcorn is $10.  While out there selling, make sure you collect the money when you sell.  I prefer checks but cash is ok too.  If they choose to use checks they may pay using one check made out to Sanborn Central FFA.  Please note on the fruit form when our due date is.  If there are questions today, I can be contacted via email or you can wait and ask me tomorrow at school.  Thank you for your hard work and good luck selling!

Notice on Lessons (5th-8th students):  It is not Mr. Kroeger’s or the classroom teacher’s responsibility to make sure that a student is showing up to their lessons. I was very lenient last quarter on grades because of the hectic schedule and being sick. For the rest of the school year, students need to: Show up to their lessons and practice 100 minutes to get a perfect grade. Not turning in a practice sheet is like not turning in homework for another class. This will result in a poor grade so please make sure your student understands this. Any questions or concerns, please email at brett.kroeger@k12.sd.us

Attention 8th-12th Band Parents: There will be a parent meeting Tuesday Nov. 12th at 6:00 pm in the Sanborn Central Music Room. The meeting will be to discuss the meal for the band concert Nov. 26th and other logistics.

A reminder to parents:  It is very easy to drop off a quick e-mail to someone at school regarding a change in plans for the end of the day.  Most of the time this works without any difficulty, however it is not fool proof! Please keep in mind that if the person you e-mailed doesn't reply - they may be gone for the day.  Never hesitate to follow up with a phone call. To ensure that everyone gets where they are supposed to be - please notify us of end of the day changes prior to 3:00 pm.

The Elks Hoop Shoot contest (free throw shooting competition) will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Huron Middle School Gym. Sanborn Central will be a host this year for Caring Rose Week to help the local food pantry.  Caring Rose Week is November 19-23.  A dozen long-stemmed roses will be given for a donation of $10 and 2 canned goods.  More information will be sent out in the near future, but if you would like to reserve a dozen roses, please contact Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us.

We are still working on getting the kinks worked out of our new notification system for emergency dismissals.  The new program will also send a text number to cell phones listed.  If you do receive a text from 425-341-1144 it is legit!

If there is something that you would like to have added to our e-news please e-mail us at sanborncentral@gmail.com
