order forms for the Sanborn Central team to the school by Tuesday. See information below for specifics.
The FFA Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 7. Food
assignments are as follows: Grade 11 – salad and dessert; Grade 10 – main dish;
Grade 9 – main dish. Grade 8 students are not required to attend but are more
than welcome to. They may bring a dessert if they wish to attend.

The Mitchell Kernel Girls Basketball program is
sponsoring an Individual Camp on Monday – Wednesday, June 10-12, at the

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital will be sponsoring a
Babysitting Clinic on Tuesday, June 4. Cost is $25 which includes lunch and
educational materials. The Clinic is recommended for babysitters ages 11-13

The Jr. High 281 Conference Track Meet will be held in
Wessington Springs today. Field events start at 1:00 p.m. and running events at
2:00 p.m. Participants will be leaving at 12:00 noon.
The Sanborn Central Spring Concert will be held tonight
starting at 7:00 p.m.

held in Miller on Tuesday. Field
events start at 12:30 p.m. and running events at 2:00 p.m. The bus will leave
at 10:45 a.m.

U6 soccer games will take place at Sanborn Central on
Tuesday starting at 5:00 p.m.
The Shrine Circus will be performing at the Corn Palace
on Tuesday at 4:30 and 7:15 p.m.
Woonsocket’s Spring Concert is being held at the
Woonsocket School Gym on Tuesday night starting at 7:00 p.m. The Woonsocket Post Prom Committee is having
a pie social starting at 6:00 p.m. in the commons. Pie will also be served
after the concert. Cost is $3.00 for a slice of pie and a drink.

Grade 8 will have a CPR workshop on Wednesday from 12:30
– 3:15 p.m.
Grades 2 and 3 will have a Savings presentation on
Wednesday.
There will be U8 (4:00 – 5:30 p.m.) and U12 (3:30 p.m.) soccer
practice after school on Wednesday (no U6 due to circus).

Senior Goal Scholarship interviews will take place on
Thursday morning starting at 9:30 a.m.
FFA Officer Interviews will be held on Thursday after
school in the Ag room.
Eligibility and Homework Club will be calculated on
Thursday.
U8 and U12 have soccer games at Wessington Springs on
Thursday.
Letcher Dumpster Days will run from Thursday through
Monday. Two dumpsters will be located in the lot just west of Rossy Park (north
of Main Street). Throw your junk away for free (no tires, no trees, no
appliances, no batteries). This is sponsored by the Letcher Community Club.

There WILL be school on Friday. It had originally been
designated an Extra Help Day, but is now a regular day of school to make up for
a snow day taken earlier.
Declaim for Grades 1-4 will take place on Friday.
The JH track team will be attending the Hanson JH Track
Meet in Alexandria on Friday. Field events will begin at 1:30 p.m. and running
events at 3:30 p.m.
The Howard Wood Dakota Relays will take place in Sioux

There will be baseball practice in Letcher on Friday at
5:30 p.m. for 10U and at 6:15 p.m. for 12U.

There will be
Boys State/Girls State orientation on Sunday at Mitchell Senior High School,
920 N. Capital, Mitchell. Registration starts at 1:00 p.m. and the orientation
starts at 2:00 p.m. At least one parent is encouraged to attend with their son
or daughter.

Round Ball Camp will be held on Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4 in the
Woonsocket Gym. Boys/girls in Grades 2-4 next year will have camp from 9:30 -

“Tan-Dog” t-shirts
are being sold with the proceeds going to the Tanna Kingsbury benefit fund
established at Home Federal Bank in Mitchell. Orders will be submitted to Sun
Gold Trophies on Friday, May 3. Payment is due before you can receive your
t-shirt. All t-shirts are gray and short-sleeved. Checks should be made payable
to Sanborn Central. Here is a link to the order form:
Sanborn Central is hosting a Pampered Chef party through
Tuesday, May 7, with proceeds going to the Tanna Kingsbury Benefit Fund. There
are order forms and catalogs at the school, or you can order online. Here is a

A quarter of beef and the processing fee at Shorty’s
Locker have been donated to the Tanna fundraising effort. Raffle tickets are
available for $5 each or 3 for $10 from the following: CorTrust Banks in
Artesian and Letcher, Sal’s Drive Inn in Letcher, Forestburg Farmer’s Elevator,
Country Pumper, Steve Linke, Tambi Wormstadt, Lincoln Feistner and Vickie Fox.
All proceeds will go to the Kingsbury family with Tanna drawing the lucky
winner on May 11 at Sanborn Central’s graduation. For more information, contact

SANBORN CENTRAL HEART & SOLE TEAM:
Last year Sanborn Central participated in the Heart &
Sole Cancer Walk, which is held in June each year in Mitchell. We would again
like to sell/collect luminaries to support this good cause. Money raised from
this event is used to help support area families who have been affected by
cancer. This money goes directly to those families to help defray costs of
medicine, travel to treatments, motels, dining while away from home, and so
many other items these families need help with during the difficult time of
cancer treatments. It is a way for all of us to show our support in their
journey. We would like to walk for ALL in our communities that have been
touched by cancer.
You are invited to participate by purchasing luminaries
either In Honor or In Memory of individuals who have battled this disease. This
year’s honorary chairs are familiar to many of you: Kathy Zoss and Al Ridgeway.
If you plan on being at the walk on Friday, June 21 and wish to bring a sign
supporting someone close to you, PLEASE feel free to bring it ready to display.
The official school banner will be that of “Sanborn Central has Heart and
Sole.” There will be a campsite ready to
go that night.
We would like all luminary purchases to be in by Tuesday,
April 30. Luminaries/money may be sent to school and given to Mary Ackman, or
sent directly to Kelly Selland at 24129 395th Ave, Letcher SD 57359. There will
also be a table set up at the Spring Concert on April 29 if you wish to
purchase them then. Luminaries are $5.00 each and can be purchased for that
price until Thursday, June 20. HOWEVER, in order to count towards the Sanborn
Central team registration, they need to be returned by April 30.
