Congratulations to both the boys and girls basketball teams that claimed the 281 tournaments victorious over the weekend! The boys defeated Wessington Springs 51-47 to break a 7 game winning streak for the Spartans, and the girls broke Highmore-Harrold's undefeated record with a score of 52-43.

Thursday, January 22nd 2026-Blue Day

Both the boys and girls basketball teams are headed to the 281 Championship games this evening. The girls will play Highmore/Harrold at 6PM and the boys will battle Wessington Springs at 7:30

This evening during the 281 Conference Tournament at the Huron Arena, Tim McCain will be inducted into the 281 Hall of Fame halftime of the girls game and Rob Baruth will be inducted into the 281 Hall of Fame halftime of the boys game. Congratulations goes out to our former Blackhawk coaches.

The 8th Graders will be out on Thursday for a career fair from 8:30-2:30. About the Career Fair:
The purpose of the 8th Grade Career Fair is to introduce students to various educational pathways and career options. The fair will feature age-appropriate, hands-on activities designed to both engage and educate students about future opportunities. The event is sponsored by Wagner Community Memorial Hospital–Avera, with some booths in the Camp Med lane provided in collaboration with the South Dakota Department of Health (SDDOH).
