The Football boys lost a tough one vs. Plank-Mt. Vernon on Friday with a score of 30-6. They will be back on the field at WS on Thursday starting at 6PM.

The following students will be attending the DWU All-State Workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 21st:
Madi M, McKenzie U, Westen W, Parker E, Olivia C, Lucy A, Chloe S, Ledoux B, and Sophie K.
The bus will leave Woonsocket at 7:30 am and Sanborn Central at 7:40 am. Return time is approximately 3:00 pm. Students need to bring music, pencil, and water.

Liz Boschee had 10 kills 1 block 2 digs, Addy Baruth had 2 digs and 11 aces, Kali Hofer brought in 1 kill, 1 block, 15 digs, 13 aces. Hudson Fouberg hit the floor with 16 digs, Kenzie Baruth brought to the game 3 kills, 3 digs, Tori Hoffman had 5 digs, 7 assists and Cami Edwards concluded Senior Night with 4 kills, 1 block, 9 digs and 1 ace.

Come out and show your support for the Volleyball ladies on Thursday, October 16th as they take on Kimball-White Lake!
It’s Senior Night, so let’s give a special shoutout to our seniors for their hard work, dedication, and leadership. Let’s pack the stands and make it a night to remember! We will introduce the seniors and their parents between the JV and Varsity match before warm-ups.  So, parents please try and be there by 6:45pm to be on the safe side, not knowing how many sets the JV match will go. The pep band will perform at tonight's game.

Congratulations to our quiz bowl team consisting of Cami Edwards, Ian Octavo, Hudson Fouberg, and Cole Wilson as they defeated McCook Central is sudden death overtime 4-3.

Dear 11th and 12th Grade Parents and Guardians,
Mr. Steele and I are excited to take our juniors and seniors to the College and Career Fair in Mitchell on Thursday, October 9th! This will be a great opportunity for students to explore postsecondary options, meet college representatives, and learn more about different career pathways.
We’ll also be touring Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) and Mitchell Technical College (MTC) during the day. The Sanborn Central Booster Club has generously offered to pay for students’ lunch at Pizza Ranch—thank you to them for their support!
Below is our schedule for the day:
  • Leave school: 8:30 AM
  • College Fair: 9:00–10:00 AM (DWU Campus – Wellness Center)
  • DWU Campus Tour: 10:00–10:45 AM
  • Travel to Fairgrounds for Career Fair
  • Career Fair: 11:00–11:50 AM
  • Lunch at Pizza Ranch: 12:00–1:15 PM
  • MTC Campus Tour: 1:30–2:15/2:30 PM
  • Return to school: by 3:00 PM
The only thing students may opt to bring is a jacket as we will be outside for the tours, as well as a water bottle. Also, there is a coffee shop on the campus at DWU so some students may choose to purchase a coffee or beverage if time allows.

We will run eligibility today.

    Information for the week of September 29th
Today we run eligibility

Parent teacher conferences will take place October 2nd from 1-7. We will dismiss at 12:30 on the 2nd and will have a NO SCHOOL DAY on the 3rd.
The End of the 1st quarter is October 17th.
Mrs. Karlen will be at SC from 4:00-7:00pm for P/T Conferences.
Ms. McClane will be at SC for the entire time and in the Spring she will be at Woonsocket.
Mrs. Wilson will be at conferences from 1-3 and 6-7
Mr. Olsen will be at SC from 3-4:45pm, the volleyball bus leaves at 4:50
The ladies will take on JVC today starting at 4:00 with 7th grade. Eighth will follow and then JV and V. Junior High will depart at 3:00 and then HS from SC at 4:50.

We will have a VB match with James Valley on Oct. 2nd with the JH match at 4 followed by 8th, JV and V.  The bus will depart with JH at 3:00 and HS at 4:50 from SC.

The 8-12 Marching Band will be going to Kimball October 3rd to march in their parade event.

On Thursday, October 23rd, at 12:40, we will travel to Woonsocket in a fleet of transit vans and minibuses with grades 7-12 to partake in an assembly with Terrence Lee Talley. This will last from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and then we will return on time for SRB. Mrs. Olson-VanWinkle & Ms. Ziebarth will have 6th-grade classes during the time we are gone, but the majority of us will have to drive over with students. Seniors and Wessington Springs will be attending as well.

Today is the last day to get signed up for Parker's camp!
I am Parker Ettswold a senior at Sanborn Central. This year for my senior project, I will be doing a Baseball Camp. This camp will be in Letcher, South Dakota, on October 18th. To make sure the youth get the best experience, the camp will be broken into two groups with the first group geared towards kids in grades kindergarten through fourth grade. Their time slot is from 8:30 to 9:30 am. The second age group will be fifth grade through eighth grade from 10 to 11:30 am. All boys and girls are welcome! Proceeds from this camp will benefit the physical education classes at Sanborn Central allowing for the purchase of new equipment.
