Both the boys and girls teams battled hard last night, but both were defeated. The girls game ended in a final of 49-47 an the boys 65-40.

As flu season is in full swing, we kindly ask for your cooperation in preventing the spread of illness at school.

  • If your child has a fever today, they should stay home tomorrow.
  • If you need to give your child fever-reducing medication today, they should not attend school tomorrow.
  • If you feel the need to give your child medicine in the morning just to get them through the school day, please keep them home.
  • If your child is experiencing vomiting or diarrhea today, they should not return to school tomorrow.

Keeping sick or still-recovering children at home helps protect the health of other students and staff. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Last night's boys Varsity game ended with a score of 54-50 over the Hanson boys, and the girls Varsity won with a final of 66-47. The girls JV won last night and the boys team lost with a last second 3 in over time!

Parents, if your child is not attending school, please call the office at 605-495-4183 or e-mail the office at sanborncentral.office@k12.sd.us If your child is absent for multiple days, it is necessary to inform the office each day that your child is out so we can properly take attendance and have every student accounted for.

Girls and Boys B-Ball and C games at Hanson today. The  Girls will start at 6:00 and the boys at 7:00.  The bus will depart at 4:45.

The Hunt is On-Brady is a graduate of Sanborn Central and is currently attending Mitchell Technical College for ag business. Brady was diagnosed in December with Sever Aplastic Anemia, a rare and serious condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. It is anticipated that Brady will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant this year as part of his treatment. Forms are due back February 14th

There has been added interest in a voucher program in the state of South Dakota. This program allocates state funds for tuition fees that can be used at schools other than public schools. The Sanborn Central School Board and I stand in opposition to school vouchers unless the same accountability and reporting are also required from those receiving the voucher. The JH and C games at Ethan have been cancelled on Feb. 3. Ethan needed the date to make up a postponed DH and we cannot come up with any other date that will work to make it up.

Band Fundraiser kickoff Thursday in Woonsocket & Friday in Sanborn Central!
Band students will once again be selling Coffee, Tea, Hot Cocoa, Popcorn & Mixed Nuts!  
The fundraiser will be running January 16-31 in Woonsocket; January 17-30 in Sanborn Central.  Product Delivery sometime in February.  The money raised will be going towards new instruments, percussion equipment, and towards their Junior/Senior Trips!  Thank you for supporting our Band program!
