Orange Day
Congratulations to Kayla Olson for getting second place in the Conservation Speech Contest on Monday. She will advance to the regional contest in Chamberlain at the end of March.
Rebel students and parents - you are just awesome - at this time I don’t have the exact totals from the penny war, but the results were AMAZING! On Friday over $400 in pennies and silver was brought in making the grand total raised over $600 and don’t forget that FFA was matching up to $500 - making a total of just over $1100 going into the Believe Scholarship fund!!!!!! 1st grade won the bragging rights to having a cookout with the FFA next week!!!!!! Every student who graduates from Sanborn Central will benefit!!!
Thank you to everyone who supported the bean bag tournament on Saturday night. A total of $22,026.25 was raised for Tanna’s Believe Scholarship, and will be matched by the Boyd and Dody Hopkins family. The Sophomore class won the heifer-naming contest with their entry of “Jake, from Sale Barn”. The winner of the Toshiba tablet was Kev Kingsbury. He donated it back and it was auctioned off to the highest bidder. All in all, it was a very successful evening thanks to our very generous communities!
Good luck to
our Blackhawk Guys as they enter District play Thursday. We play JVC at
7:30 in the Huron Arena. The guys would appreciate a great group of fans
in the arena, but if you can’t make it, tune into (1210 AM) to listen live.

Coach Olson’s comments: This year the boys had the toughest
schedule in Class B which should help us in postseason play. We have been
building all season for a strong push into districts and I feel we have been
playing some of our best basketball both offensively and defensively these last
two weeks. We have a big challenge ahead of us but these boys are excited
to compete for a district championship.
