 The Lady Blackhawk Volleyball team plays at 5:15 today in the Hanson Tourney with Howard at 5:15.  The bus will leave here at 3:40.  We wish you the best!

 Good Luck to the Blackhawk Football team as they host Kimball/White Lake tomorrow at Forestburg.  Parent Night will begin promptly at 6:45!

The 5/6th Basketball season will begin on September 29th.  The schedule has been uploaded to the basketball folder, in the athletics tab, on our forms and publications page.

 The SC Booster club will be having a dues night during the Volleyball games on September 4th. Dues are $20 per family. This is a great way to support the many student activities at our school.  Everyone is invited to join!  

  he recent wish granted to Tanna for their family trip to Hawaii was truly spirit-raising. To show appreciation and support to the Mitchell division of Make A Wish, a team (called Tan-Dog’s Team, of course!)  has been formed and will be participating in their Walk for Wishes walk & run event to be held at Hitchcock Park in Mitchell on Saturday, September 6th.   PLEASE JOIN OUR TEAM!!   It’s very easy to join by visiting the www.walkmitchell.org website and then clicking on the Tan-Dog’s Team link in the right-hand column, then clicking on "Join Team".  If you prefer to donate to the team instead of walking/running with us (at this point we’re all walkers!), there is also a "Donate Now" button given here.  Additional details regarding start time and additional evening activities are found here also.  It’ll be a fun evening in support of a great cause!  Please join us in helping fund wishes for area kids!!

FFA students gone to the fair on Thursday are: Trent K, Trevor O, Garrett D, Cody R, and Catherine B.  For FFA Members helping at the SD FFA Animal Nursery at the State Fair on Thursday: You will need to wear an FFA t-shirt.  If you do not have one, the FFA will be selling shirts for $5 a piece at the fairgrounds.  You will also need to bring money for lunch.  We will be leaving from Sanborn Central at 7:45 am and Woonsocket at 8:00 am.  If you are getting on the bus at a school other than the one you are enrolled at you need to let Mr. Gross know.  We will be back around 2:30 pm.

The Blackhawk Youth Football program (3rd thru 6th) is having their organizational meeting tonight (August 26th) at 6:30 in the Springs gym.

URGENT!!!!  Substitute school bus drivers needed.  We need drivers to substitute occasionally for route drivers in the morning and/or afternoon.  Hours are approximately 6:15 - 8:00 in the morning and about 3:00 - 4:30 in the afternoon depending on the route and passengers riding. The pay is $30 per route or $60 for the day (both morning and afternoon routes).  The district will pay for expenses to get your CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements that include a physical.  Contact Supt. Linda Whitney by calling 605-495-4183 or e-mailing linda.whitney@k12.sd.us if interested or want more information.

The Back-to-School-Night is the perfect time to pay your lunch bill.  Pre-payment is a requirement. Reminder that policy states no meal will be served when a student has an unpaid balance of $10.00.  Meal prices this year are:
                              PreKindergarten through Fifth Grade................................. $2.35
                             Sixth Grade through Twelfth Grade..................................... $2.60                         Adults............................................................................. $3.50

Join us for the Fly Like Brae Benefit to be held on August 23rd in Plankinton, SD. Braelynn Gail Erlandson, 4 year old daughter of Mike and Ashley (Hinckley) Erlandson (Plankinton), was airlifted to Sanford Children's Hospital on July 3rd after falling into Lake Kampeska in Watertown. Braelynn passed away on July 4, 2014. Proceeds from the Benefit will go to the Erlandson Family. Events include: 5K Run, Silent Auction, Live Auction, Free Will Donation Feed and Balloon Animals. Memorial shirts are available for purchase. Donations for the silent and live auction are also welcome.
