Good luck to our varsity basketball teams this weekend.  In the 281 Tourney the girls play Iroquois in Wolsey at 5:00 today and the boys will play Springs at 1:00 tomorrow. You can watch on Santel Channel 102.  Tomorrow the girls will play Warner at 5:30 in the Hanson Classic which can be watched on Santel channel 90 or listen on KOOL 98 or Q107.  GO BLACKHAWKS!

This week is School Board Recognition Week.  Our children benefit every day from the leadership of our local school board.  Today we will highlight Murray Van Laecken who has served on our board for 16 years.  Murray graduated from Letcher High School in 1976 and enjoys his occupation as a farmer/rancher tremendously.  He chose to serve on the board to keep a quality learning facility in our county. Watching our students and staff move into the new building will be a memory Murray will always cherish.  In the future, he hopes to keep our top notch school operating as long as possible.  Murray, we thank you for making the commitment to serve Sanborn Central students, staff, and patrons!

Today is the last day for high school students to switch classes.

HS Boys will practice at SC today – no JH!

Blackhawk Fans – take note:  The Cheerleaders will be selling Spirit Poms for $2.00 prior to Saturday’s game at the Hanson Classic. Find a cheerleader or coach at the Corn Palace to purchase yours!

Boys Basketball players - Practice on Monday will be at 3PM for 7th-12th graders in Woonsocket.  The SC mini bus will leave at 2:30 PM.  All players will be fed pizza/wings during film.  Practice will be completed between 5-5:30PM in time for everyone to attend the girls game in Huron that night.

We still have openings for the blood drive on Monday, January 20th.  Please contact Tracy Moody if you would like to be added to our list.  Any student that donates will receive their bonus points and a free t-shirt! tracy.moody@k12.sd.us

The JH Boys Tourney at Kimball on Jan. 25 is cancelled due to conflicting times with the Varsity Hanson Classic in Mitchell.

Soccer Volunteers……..At this time Sanborn Central is unsure if we will be offering a soccer program this spring.  We are in need of an adult volunteer to head the program. If interested please contact Mrs. Whitney at linda.whitney@k12.sd.us prior to January 31st.

Just a reminder to one and all – Please do not place cash in an envelope for your lunch bill without putting a name on it somewhere.

Letcher Bountiful Basket Participants - Please note time change - Volunteer time is 8:00 am and pick up time is 9:00 am Saturday, January 18th.
