We have wrapped up the regular season of oral interp along with districts. Below are the results of the final two regular season competitions as well as the district competition scores. We have two individual pieces, Shania Cornelius (serious monologue) and Casady Dean (poetry) who have advanced to districts. In addition, the readers theatre group of Destiny Alameda, Selena Alameda, and Rain Swenson received 3rd and are the alternates for readers theatre.

A note from Mrs. Farrell-Poncelet
Thank you all for allowing us to give this season a shot. The kids have been fun to work with even though they have had to struggle through what felt like constant rule changes.

The regular season of oral interp wrapped up with the Brookings Fall Festival and the Lewis and Clark Invitational.

The Brookings Fall Festival brought some tough competition for our entries. Casady Dean received 28th place in poetry. Isabella Bitterman received 49th place in humorous monologue. In serious monologue, Shania Cornelius received 30th, Morgan Hoffman received 36th, and Sidney Salas received 46th.

At the Lewis and Clark Invitational, the team entered all seven categories. In humorous monologue, Isabella Bitterman received 14th. In storytelling, Brooklyn Johnson received 8th and Toby Kneen received 9th. In poetry, Casady Dean received 6th. In duet, the combo of Destiny Alameda and Rain Swenson received 14th. In serious monologue, Shania Cornelius received 15th, followed by Morgan Hoffman with 17th, and Sidney Salas with 18th. In nonoriginal oratory, Brady Larson received 10th and Ellie Evans received 11th. Finally our two readers theatre entries of Braxton Gentles, Sydney Freideman, Aleya Fry, Rakell Igou-Rouse, and Saleena Larson received 6th followed by the group of Destiny Alameda, Selena Alameda, and Rain Swenson coming in with 7th.

Entering district competition was the duet of Destiny Alameda and Rain Swenson (scoring 5th), readers theatre group with Rain Swenson, Selena Alameda, and Destiny Alameda (scoring 3th which also sets them as the alternates for regions), humorous monologue entry by Isabella Bitterman (scoring 5th), nonoriginal oratory by Ellie Evans (scoring 5th), and storytelling entry by Brooklyn Johnson (scoring 5th). The serious monologue performed by Shania Cornelius (scoring 2nd) and the poetry selection performed by Casady Dean (scoring 3rd) both advance to regions being held this week.
