It’s Teacher Day for American Education Week.  Fortunately our teachers are always willing to give that “little extra” to make Sanborn Central outstanding…….Stop and take a minute to thank yours!

District 4 FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) Results from yesterday: Ag Issues - 3rd Place - Topic: “Is transporting oil underground worth the risk?" - Team members: Wesley Linke, Tater Moody, Samantha Dean, Cayden Slykhuis, Aiden Wormstadt   Ag Sales - 2nd Place - - Will advance to State Leadership - Team members: Eric Ruml, Sawyer Senska, Austin Schmit, and Madi Moody   Conduct of Chapter Meetings (formerly Jr. Parliamentary Procedure) - 4th Place - Team members: Wyatt Burkel (President), Xavier Baysinger (Vice President), Collin Schmiedt (Secretary), Shania Cornelius (Treasurer), Mason Moody (Reporter), Harley Kneen (Sentinel), Tyler Eddy (Student Advisor)  Parliamentary Procedure - 4th Place - Team members: Nathan Linke (President), Trent Kingsbury, Catherine Bechen, Sarah Morgan, Katie Schmit, Josie Weber. 5/6th Girls vs. Howard at Woonsocket today.  The boys will scrimmage at 5:00 and girls tip off at 6:00.

Winterguard practices at SC today.

7-12 Girls ball players will leave SC at 2:45 today for a 3:00 meeting in Woonsocket.  Open Gym will follow.

7-12 Boys ball players will meet at 3:00 today in the HS lab with open gym following at SC.

A representative from Lake Area will be here at 11:50 tomorrow to visit with any interested juniors and seniors.]

Wednesday, November 22nd is our Extra Help Day.  We have several MS students attending the Music Fest on Tuesday, November 21st.  These students will be notified of all missing assignments on Friday, November 17th at noon (please have grade books up to date).  Assignments still missing at 2:00pm on Monday, November 20th will earn them the right to attend the extra help day.  Parents will be called at 2:00 on Monday informing them that the student needs to be here at 8:00am on Wednesday.   Students this involves are: Ellie K, Shania C, Ellie E, Katie M, Brady L, Leighton T, Brighten H, Dayton E, Mason M, Dana S, Michael H, and Sidney S

All other missing assignments (HS and MS) will need to be marked by noon on Monday the 20th with parent calls beginning at 1:00 on Tuesday the 21stMOST IMPORTANT BE CHECKING YOUR PORTAL!  If you need help –see Mary mary.ackman@k12.sd.us

ATHLETICS
For the JH and HS Blackhawk Football awards night on November 16 at Woonsocket at 7:00 pm we are asking the following for the potluck: Woonsocket Parents – bring hot dish/main dish, Wessington Springs Parents – bring dessert, and Sanborn Central Parents – bring salad/side dish.  Thank you to all parents in advance for providing to the pot luck. 

The 3rd & 4th grade boys will have games in Wolsey on Thursday, November 16th.  The 3rd graders will start at 6:00 pm with the 4th graders following at 7:00 pm.
  
The 3rd/4th Grade Girls' Basketball will be going to Howard on Saturday, November 18th to play some scrimmage games. (No Practice) Notes will be sent home today with a schedule and information. All girls need to be in Howard by 9AM on Saturday.   More information can be found at

MUSIC
The following students will be attending the Region 5 Junior High Music Festival on Tuesday, November 21st:  Ellie K, Shania C, Ellie E, Katie M, Brady L, Leighton T, Brighten H, Dayton E, Mason M, Dana S, Michael H, and Sidney S.  Please note the departure times have changed.  The bus will be leaving Sanborn Central at 6:15 am and Woonsocket at 6:30 am.  

COMMUNITY
Sanborn Central will take your County Fair Saver Cards and combine them with others to assist in acquiring turkeys for the Sanborn County Food Bank.  We ask that if you have some to donate, you have them at school prior to November 22nd.
