Tuesday, December 9th 2025--Blue Day

    Events for the day
Mason Moody of Letcher made his hometown beam with pride Thursday night as he became one of just eight bull riders to make a qualifying ride during opening night of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

With grit, heart, and quiet determination Moody delivered an 83-point ride on Koulees Pet of Macza Pro Rodeo. As the second cowboy out of the chutes, he set an early standard that held strong through the night, ultimately earning him a seventh-place finish—just one spot shy of the money, but every bit worthy of celebration.

Stetson Wright claimed the round win with an impressive 89.75 points on Big Shasta of Powder River Rodeo, but for those cheering back home, it was Moody’s steady courage and powerful performance that stole the spotlight.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo runs through Dec. 13, and with each ride, Mason continues to carry the pride of Letcher and all of South Dakota with him. Here’s to the next round Mason!

No basketball practice today do to the high winds and precipitation predictions.

Mrs. Karlen is out until 10:30 today to rehearse in Woonsocket.
