Breaking news..........At Corscia/Stickney today the C Girls will play following the JHB in the elementary gym.  I didn't update the schedule accordingly - NO JH GIRLS!!!!!!!!

The winners advance to the District Level held on February 24th in Huron. Good Luck to all of you and Thank you to all the participants and parents who came Sunday, January 27th.

Drum Roll Please…………The SCW drum line has been selected to perform at halftime of the 6:00pm game at the Girls Class B State Basketball Tournament in Huron on Thursday, March 7th.   Of course we are Blackhawk Proud!!!!!!

The Lady Blackhawks came out on top of the Lady Spartans yesterday.  Stats for the varsity 53-32 win were: Tesa Jensen 17 points and 7 rebounds; Megan Poyer 9 points and 10 rebounds; Kaylee White 6 points; Madi Moody 6 points and 3 assists; and Trinity Boschee 4 points and 5 rebounds.  JV Ladies won 43-24 with leaders being: Ellie Voneye 16 points, Trista White 11 points, and Taryn Ziebart 6 points. 

GBB at SC today and BB at Woony.

JH G/B host Hitchcock/Tulare in Woonsocket today.  Girls tip off at 6:00.

Knights of Columbus of Artesian will hold their annual Hoop Shoot Competition on Sunday, January 27th at 1:00 pm in the Sanborn Central gym. Boys and girls age 9 to 14, must be 9 by January 1st. The gym will be open at 12:30 to start warming up. If there are any questions call John Bechen at 999-1370.

Have you every had questions as to what or how you child is thinking.   Maybe how a child is acting is baffling to you!  This is a simulation of how frustrating it can be for a child to complete a simple task.  Mrs. Johnson came across this website and found it informational and eye opening to see the frustration of a reading assignment, or keeping thoughts directed to learning while in class. 

Upcoming Event - Nurse for a Day takes place on the Presentation campus in Aberdeen, SD on February 8, February 15, or March 22. Open to any Junior or Senior students who have been considering a career in Nursing or Pre-Med. This free event includes hands-on learning and lunch on campus at the Avera Simulation Center. Please see the following link.

 January 31st-We have been informed that Corsica-Stickney will be hosting a pork loin feed during the ball games.  Games will start at 4:15 starting with JH boys and JV girls.

Monday, January 28th-6-7 grade band students as well as community members are invited to play with the pep band at the double header.

The 6-7 grade band will be performing with the pep band on Monday, January 28th for the girls varsity pre-game. Students are asked to meet in the Sanborn music room around 5:30pm that night.


The community is also invited to play with the pep band at the double header on Monday, January 28th. There is a 4pm rehearsal before the game. Those interested are asked to contact Miss. West atJanae.west@k12.sd.us.
FFA
FFA CDE season is soon here, so that means practice time! Everyone who is participating in a CDE this spring is required to attend practices. If none of the times listed are an option for you, get in contact with Miss. Ronning to schedule another time. Members please let Miss. Ronning know which session(s) you will be attending.

World of Work students - make sure you are checking Google classroom at least a few times a week to make sure you don't miss anything.

Booster Club

Counselor's Corner
Have you every had questions as to what or how you child is thinking.   Maybe how a child is acting is baffling to you!  This is a simulation of how frustrating it can be for a child to complete a simple task.  Mrs. Johnson came across this website and found it informational and eye opening to see the frustration of a reading assignment, or keeping thoughts directed to learning while in class. 

Upcoming Event - Nurse for a Day takes place on the Presentation campus in Aberdeen, SD on February 8, February 15, or March 22. Open to any Junior or Senior students who have been considering a career in Nursing or Pre-Med. This free event includes hands-on learning and lunch on campus at the Avera Simulation Center. Please see the following link.

Knights of Columbus of Artesian will hold their annual Hoop Shoot Competition on Sunday, January 27th at 1:00 pm in the Sanborn Central gym. Boys and girls age 9 to 14, must be 9 by January 1st.
