Blue Day
We hope the community is getting excited for the Christmas Concert!! Tonight at 7 PM the kids will sing and play their hearts out with the holiday tunes that we all love. Don't forget that the Sanborn County Blue Group is asking for donations of toiletry items that can be added to the donation box. This box will be available in the commons.
If your child is missing a clothing item please have them check our lost and found in the office. These items will be donated if they are not claimed by Wednesday December 5th. The lost and found items will be displayed under our welcome sign as you enter the North entrance.

December 5th students will be notified of missing assignments at 1:00pm. Thursday, December 6th at 1:00 parents will be notified of any student needing to attend extra help day. Extra Help day student hours are from 8:00am until 11:00am.

A sign up sheet is located at the Artesian post office and the Letcher Community Center. You can also call the Sanborn Central School at 605-495-4183 to reserve your meal. The cost is $4.25 and will include a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a sugar cookie.

Sports
Some parents have been discussing doing snacks for High School boys and girls basketball games like those that we do for VB. Groups of parents coordinate a snack to have on the bus on the way to any away games during the week because games usually start right away and that does not give the student athletes any time to eat before playing. Our VB players greatly appreciate it and it is very easy to do. The snack may consist of a sandwich, chips, granola bars, cheese sticks, cookies, fruit, etc. I have made a list of HS away games and a sign-up. If all parents sign up, approximately 4 of us could work together for each night. I will have signup sheet at Sunshine Bible game or you can text/email me if there is a specific date you would like. A practice was originally scheduled for December 20th but has been cancelled for that day and will be determined at a later date. The cheerleaders will strut their stuff at the basketball game Friday, December 21st.

Sanborn County Blue Group is asking for donations for the Sanborn county food drive. Non perishable food items are welcome, but the food pantry is especially in need of toiletry items. Shampoo, Conditioner, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, Toilet Paper, and Cleaning Supplies are just some of the items that are needed. The donation box will be available the night of the Christmas concert (December 4th) and will be picked up December 7th.
If you have completed the required training necessary shooting Sports practice will begin on Sunday, January 6th at 2 pm and regular practice will run 2-6 each Sunday for guns & archery, and 6-9 each Tuesday for guns only. We are also working on adding 22 rifle to our discipline options (must be junior age level or older – ages 11-18). The Artesian area WWTS Christmas program “It All Happened in the Country” will be performed by the youth on Wednesday evening, Dec. 12th at 6:30 pm at Artesian First Lutheran Church. Daniel (Payton Uecker) and Chelsea (Tayla Liedtke), two city slickers, get stranded in the country and find out there is more to Christmas than the hustle and bustle of presents and decorations. With the help of Cora May (Kadyn Turner), cousin Luther, (Cole Wilson), Uncle Yule, (Wanda Effling) and Granny (Chayda Johnson), they learn the story of Christ’s birth and how it all happened in the country…the countryside of Bethlehem. The rest of the youth have various other parts in the play. Jesus’ birthday will also be celebrated. The church ladies will serve lunch following the program. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Dakota Wesleyan is hosting a basketball clinic to boys and girls 1st-6th grade. Cost of the clinic is $35 per athlete, and will be held December 15th
