Support The Blackhawks!!  The Boys and Girls Blackhawk Basketball Teams are asking for some “Snack” Donations to use on their bus rides to daily practices.  The snacks would be split between the two schools to give the players a little bit of energy heading to practice.  Some popular items in the past are:  rice krispy treats, cookies, granola/energy bars, jerky, crackers, etc. There are 35 girls and 25 boys out for basketball this year. Donations can be brought to our season-opening games vs. SBA on Saturday Dec. 10.  There will be a drop-off room available and will be divided up after the games.  Thanks for your awesome support of these kids’ efforts!   Go Blackhawks!!

December 20th, when the Blackhawks travel to Plankinton for a double header, they are hosting their 7th Annual Shoot for A Cure Night.  This event is sponsored by the Plankinton Student Council along with a whole host of other organizations.   They do a supper, silent auction (which basket donations are always accepted until the event begins), half time pop a shot games and raffles!  All proceeds are then given to the Aurora County Cancer Fund, LLC.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact sue.faulhaber@k12.sd.us   More information can be found at   https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxqWDgwTHOqeSDVqN0RyTzFSTXc/view?usp=sharing

HELP WANTED……. We have a fantastic Winterguard Organization which practices several times a week.  These young ladies put many hours of hard work into this program, unfortunately our competitions are all in Minneapolis.  We are estimating the expense per participant (travel, costume, drill, equipment, circuit membership fee) at about $500 per student.   The members plan on doing some fund raising, but past experience has proven that we will fall short.  We have some students who have been attending practices faithfully, but realize financially they won’t be able to afford it.  At this time we are hoping to find sponsors – not to just hand money over, but to provide these members with jobs to earn their way.   If you are willing to help us out – please contact Mr. Kroeger at brett.kroeger@k12.sd.us
CARING
Help us earn playground equipment please!!!!!  You can vote once a day until March 24, 2017!   Thank you in advance for taking the time to help us!!!!

Community
The Artesian Area WWTS Christmas program will be Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 6:30 pm at Artesian First Lutheran Church.  The program titled “Too-oo-oo-oo Busy” will find the group searching for the true meaning of Christmas.  There will also a birthday celebration honoring Jesus birthday.  Lunch and fellowship will follow the program.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Woonsocket Community Club has again invited us to participate in their Christmas Caring Tree project.  If you know of a family who may be in need of a little extra help this year, please let Mary Ackman know by calling the school (495-4183) or e-mailing her at mary.ackman@k12.sd.us . The deadline for form submittal is December 14th to Mary.  First National Bank in Woonsocket has the tree with the “Wish Cards” for you to pick up.  Donations can be taken to First National Bank, in Woonsocket, and given to a teller there or bring to Mary at Sanborn Central.
