Homework Club meets today!
GBB practices at Woonsocket and BBB at Sanborn Central today.
Students in grades PreK-5 will have a Caring Character play presented by the MS Student Council at 2:30 today in the gym.

Tuesday, December 9th, Grades 7-12 Chorus will practice at 11:30 in the gym.

SCTV will be on Wednesday morning at 9:00.  Tune in to Santel Channel 107 to catch up with the latest Sanborn Central news!

Thursday, December 11th is our Christmas Concert at Sanborn Central.  The program begins at 7:00 pm.  If for some reason you are unable to attend, you can watch it on Santel Channel 107.
EXTRA HELP DAY - Friday, December 12th!!!!   Lists of missing work need to be turned into Mrs. Whitney and Mrs. Vermeulen no later than noon on Wednesday, December 10th.  Students will be given lists of missing assignments at that time.  Parents will be notified at 1:00 on Thursday, if anything is still missing, that you will need to be here from 8:00am until 11:00am on Friday, December 12th.
The schedule for Saturday’s games with SBA is 11:30 JHG, 12:30 JVG, Boys C 1:30, VG 3:00, and VB 4:30. These games are played in Woonsocket.
To all parents and girls in grades 1-4 Coach Rob Baruth and Coach Emily Olson are starting a Little Blackhawks Girls Basketball program.  It will be a fun program for the girls to come and learn the basics of basketball.  The program is free to all girls in grades 1-4.  An informational sheet with dates, time and locations will be sent home with your child.  Also a copy is attached to the announcements. The Junior Class has 2 Prom fundraisers left for you to participate in during basketball season.  Contact Tracy Moody for more information:
         1.  We will be doing the basketball board again for all home varsity games.  You can buy a spot on the board for $20.  Scores will be checked at half-time of each home varsity girls and boys game. $30 will be given to the winner each time.  We have 7 home games and you need not be present to win.  The first 25 people to contact Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us will have spots on the board!!  The board is uploaded to our Google Drive.
      2.  A new idea this year, we will have The Super Sofa!!  You can purchase a ticket to sit on the sofa with up to 3 friends for a single home game.  2 names will be drawn for double headers.  Each ticket is $5, you may purchase as many as you would like.  This should be great fun for elementary through adults!  Your ticket will stay in the bucket the entire year unless it is drawn!!  Contact any junior, Tracy Moody tracy.moody@k12.sd.us  or Mary Ackman at mary.ackman@k12.sd.us  to purchase a ticket.

Santa will be at Letcher Legion Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 to-noon. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served at no charge. That evening the Legion will play Bingo for Turkeys, win a 10-12# turkey playing bingo. $1.00 a card for bingo. BBQ's and pie will be sold starting at 6:30 that night. Bingo starts at 8.

Sal’s 19th Annual Holiday Open House will be Saturday, Dec. 13th from 9 to 4 and Sunday, Dec. 14th, from noon to 4 at my home in Letcher. Stop by and check out my new personalized snowmen and bulletin boards. There will also be Avon and Crocheted items. Stop by for some hot apple cider or coffee and cookies. Hope to see you there!!! The Artesian Community Improvement Association will be holding their annual Ham Drawing/Membership Drive on Friday, December 19th, 2014 at the Artesian Community Center. Supper will be served at 6:30. Drawings and a visit from Santa will follow! Membership dues are $20 a couple and go towards summer youth programs and community events.

Christmas Caring Tree for Sanborn County - Sponsored by Woonsocket Community Club!  Let the Woonsocket Community help make a child’s Christmas complete! Applications for help can be picked up at First National bank SD, in Woonsocket.  The deadline for submission is Dec 19 & all applications are confidential. Donations to the tree can be made at First National Bank SD.  Call Gay Swenson for more details 796-4272.
