Orange Day – Tutoring Day
Wear Green tomorrow and help the students at Sanborn Central Celebrate National 4-H Day.  Sanborn County is so very fortunate to have the caliber of 4-H members that we have.

Good Luck to our CBH Oral Interp participants today – Lorrie Eppe, Logun Feistner, and Maddie Vermeulen.

Congratulations to Amberiah Smith.  Amberiah participated in the Miss SD Teen Pageant over the weekend.  Miss Smith received the Spirit Award and earned the 4th Runner -up Position.  Way to make us proud Amberiah!

Congratulations to our JV football team on their exciting victory in Miller last night.  The clock had 1.9 seconds left in the game when Trent Kingsbury threw a 40 yard TD pass to John Witte for the win!   Unfortunately the JH team didn’t fare so well.

The Volleyball teams travel to Sunshine Bible today for games.  It’s a 5:15 start with C-JV-V.  The bus will leave SC at 3:45.

All State Chorus Practice will be on Wednesday and Thursday, October 8th and 9th.  Students gone those days are Tyler J, Isaiah K, Breanne B, Catherine B, Shane N, Devin G, Tamra M, and Maddie  V

Ms. Senska will be gone Thursday, October 9th, to All State Chorus practice – no vocal for MS or EL Students.  Mrs. Easton will do HS Vocal.

All grades need to be posted by noon on Thursday for eligibility.  MS Updates will also be due at that time.

Don’t forget that Friday is our Extra Help Day.  Students with missing assignments will be required to be here from 8:00 am until 11:00 am or when the work is complete.  List of missing work needs to be in the office by noon on Wednesday, October 8th, parents will be called Thursday October 9th beginning at 1:00 pm. 

The first case of influenza has been diagnosed in Sanborn County.  We encourage you to be aware of the symptoms, and practice good hygiene!  Flu shot clinic will be held October 22nd.  A note will be sent home with elementary students for you to complete requesting information regarding the nasal spray or the injection prior to October 153th.  Once those forms are returned to the office, the appropriate consent forms will be sent home.  We ask that these forms be returned no later than Friday, October 17th.  All information can be found in our forms and publications folder – flu shots/immunizations.  www.sanborncentral.com   Any questions please contact Marla Feistner at the Sanborn County Nurse 796-4510 or Mary Ackman at the school 495-4183 or mary.ackman@k12.sd.us

MS/HS Students remind your parents to contact the teachers so that you receive your bonus points before October 10th.  Teachers will be available on October 10th, our extra help day, from 8:00-11:00 am if parents want to schedule an appointment.  If you have problems with your parent portal contact mary.ackman@k12.sd.us

Farmers Insurance announced their Dream Big $100,000 Teacher Challenge last spring.  South Dakota is lucky to have one of the top 15 finalists across the nation.  LuAnn Lindskov, a science teacher at Timber Lake High School and former SD Teacher of the Year, is one of those top 15 finalists.  Voting is now open to support LuAnn for the $100,000 grant award to support STEM training in our state.
