Today's kindness challenge for kindness week is "What can you do to help someone today?"  While the list can go on and on, your gesture can be as simple as being a good listener, donating clothes you never wear to charity, or being a blood donor.  How can you contribute to the good in this world?

Do you know a deserving teacher that you would like to nominated for Teacher of the Year?  The Sanborn Central TOY Award is an honor given to only one teacher within our district each year.   If you or your student(s) would like to nominate a teacher for SC District Teacher of the Year, please take a few minutes and fill out a nomination form.  You can send a hard copy of the form back to the school or send it via email to laura.licht@ k12.sd.us, connie.vermeulen@k12.sd.us or justin.siemsen@k12.sd.us.  We have many deserving teachers, and this is an excellent opportunity to recognize those who have made an impact on your students.   Nomination forms are also located in the office and will be due back by February 24th at 4 pm.

If your multimedia class wants to come and livestream, as well, we will allow it.  We are not able to allow any third party streaming unless it is by a class that students receive credit for.

Friday, February 19th the JH girls and boys basketball team will be at SC battling MC.  One full game and then 2 extra quarters.  A game followed by B game ( 2 quarters)
We will begin at 5:30.
No junior high girls game.

News From Mrs. Foxley
The Build Dakota Scholarship is now open. Seniors attending a technical school, please contact Mrs. Foxley to see if your program is eligible for the full-ride scholarship!

The application for Summer 2021 dual credit classes opens February 1. Please see Mrs. Foxley with questions.

East River Electric Power Cooperative is holding "Bright Futures," a virtual career event highlighting rural-based careers, exploring industries like finance, precision ag, agricultural trades and marketing on February 24. Please contact Mrs. Foxley if you would like sign up! 

There will be a representative from the Army National Guard available at 1:30 on Thursday, February 25 to talk with interested students. 

Students interested in learning about healthcare jobs in SD can attend the Virtual Scrubs Camp on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021. Students will have the option of attending either a half-day in the morning or afternoon or for full day. Please see Mrs. Foxley if you are interested in attending!

Boys State applications are open to all juniors and seniors for the 2021 session! Boys State will be held May 31-June 4 on Northern State University's campus. Applications are due May 1. Please see Mrs. Foxley with questions about how to apply. 

Girls State applications are open! The event will be held on May 31-June 5 on University of South Dakota. Applications are due March 15. Please see Mrs. Foxley with questions about how to apply.
