Due to the reported cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Dakota, some of which were reported in a couple of the surrounding counties, the Department of Health has provided the school districts with the following information. Athletics
The SDHSAA plans to remain on schedule with the tournament despite presence of COVID-19 in SD. The three-day event will be broadcast live on SDPB-TV and online. EVERYTHING at the event will stream live online through www.sdpb.org/basketball.
The Friday night Semifinal session will also be digitally broadcast live on our SDPB Sports Facebook page
On television, you can catch all the action on SDPB-1. The schedule for the tournament coverage is as follows:
Thursday, March 12-Quarterfinals at 1pm & 7pm CT
Friday, March 13--Consolations at 1pm, Semifinals at 7pm CT
Saturday, March 14-7th place at 1pm, 5th place at 2:45pm, 3rd place at 7pm, championship at 9pm. All times are Central.

All practices will be in Woonsocket due to the volunteer coaching situation.
The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Powerlifting Team will be participating at State. The meet will take place at SF Washington on Saturday with lifts beginning at 8:00 AM. Athletes will need to be at the meet by 6:45. Athletes need to be at Sanborn Central by 5:00 AM to get a ride with Coach Flatten. The bus will not return until late evening (7-8 PM). Athletes participating are Aiden Wormstadt, Devyn Senska-Thompson, Lily Overson, Harley Kneen, Brighten Hitchcock, and Michael Schmiedt.

Join in on the fun with the Alexandria 3 on 3 tournament. Grades 3-8 are welcome and no entries can be taken after March 30th. The tournament date is Saturday, April 4th.

MS Updates for the week of March 16th.
Music
On March 18th 9-12 band students are performing at Region Large Group contest. They will leave in the morning and return around 1:30pm. In preparation for the contest, they will be rehearsing with Woonsocket during Block 2 on March 17th. Students involved include the following:Katie Schmit, Dayton Easton, Dana Schelske, Sidney Salas, Brighten Hitchcock, Alexis Kelly, Samantha Dean, Michael Hoffman, Toby Kneen, Brady Larson, and Casady Dean
DWU is hosting a concert by the Central College Steel Drum Band. It is a great opportunity to hear some fun music and a wonderful way to support the touring efforts of college musicians. The Steel Drum Band Concert is on Monday, March 16 at 7pm in the Sherman Center on the campus of Dakota Wesleyan University. If you have any questions, please contact Miss. Community
Please help support Chloe Ruml’s senior project by attending a FREE Family Fun BINGO event from 1-3 at the Letcher Community center Sunday, March 15th. This event is geared towards activities for children in a rural area. The event will kick off with a free will offering of soup and sandwich from 11AM- 1PM Proceeds going to Sanborn Central youth attending Washington DC trip. A silent auction from 11AM-1PM followed by bingo at 1PM.
