Congratulations to yesterday’s spirit winners – Landree Zoss, Leighton Zoss, Aubrey Kropp, Brady Larson, Zach Nelson, and Joche’ Ferguson.  Mr. McCain was originally chosen as the staff winner, until he confessed that he hadn’t dressed special for the day.  It was then decided that Mrs. Sevareid and Mrs. Wilson were the best dressed staff.

Parent notifications for missing assignments will be sent this afternoon.

HS Students – I have very few notes saying that you can leave early on Friday – guess you all need some extra study hall time.  If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Tomorrow 3:15 – last chance to earn parent conference bonus points.

The freshman class will be attending Freshman Impact on Monday, September 24th.  There will be no counseling Monday, September 24th.

Picture retakes will be taken on September 27th beginning at 7:45.   Make sure that we have your originals in the office prior.

JUNIOR CLASS
Have you purchased your yard line for Friday night’s homecoming game?   Choices are dwindling!!!!!  This is a great way to put some money in your pocket as well as helping the Juniors raise $$$$$$ for prom!!!!!   For $5, you get to choose a yard line and if the last play of the homecoming football game ends on YOUR yard line, you win half of the money. Contact your favorite junior or email susan.farrell-poncelet@k12.sd.us to purchase your yard line. 

The Junior Class will be selling Root Beer Floats during Friday night’s game.

Friday – September 21st is the homecoming parade in Woonsocket.  All band students are required to ride the band bus to and from Woonsocket.  We want to ensure that all band members are on time to line up.  The only exception will be a band student being picked up following the parade – must have written parental permission prior to 3:15 on Wednesday – September 19th.    All other HS students who have written parental permission (prior to 3:15 Wednesday, September 19th) may be dismissed at 11:00am.  HS students who do not have written excuses prior to 3:15 on Wednesday will be required to stay at SC until the 3:15 dismissal.

The SC Boosters are gearing up to make our homecoming week the best yet - A boy and girl from the elementary, middle school, and high school as well as a staff member will be chosen as the most spirited Blackhawk of the day!!!!   Monday-Thursday at 3:00 the winners will be announced and invited to the concession stand for a treat.  Mr. Siemsen is getting on board by donating a “Blackhawk” yard sign to the “Most Spirited Student” and a community member.  Community Members follow the SC Boosters Face Book Page for more information https://www.facebook.com/Sanborn-Central-Booster-Club-169583733586870/

 FFA will be hosting a tailgate supper prior to the football game with Chamberlain on Friday, September 21st:

The following FFA members have NOT turned in either their signature pages and/or dues for FFA. Please get these to Miss. Ronning ASAP!  Hannah Dickson, Royce Hunter, Cole Moody, Cayden Slykhuis, and Leighton Tarbox.

FFA member who don’t have a jacket – applications are due the 20th!  See Ms. Ronning

FFA parents - we are in need of volunteers to work the homecoming tailgate and to bake cookies and/or bars for the tailgate on September 21st. If you are able to help with either, please e-mail Miss. Ronning, jessica.ronning@k12.sd.us for more information. 

MUSIC
Pep Band – meet in the Woonsocket Band room at 6:45 tomorrow night.

Dave Williams from William's Musical and Office Equipment Repair out of Mitchell, SD will be in the Woonsocket music room from 6:30-7:30pm on September 20th during the volleyball game. He will be available to help you sign-up for his instrument rental plan and answer any other questions you may have.

The SC Booster Club is selling “Blackhawk Nation” yard signs. They are $20 each; all proceeds go to help fund the improvements to the athletic complex.
