Orange Day
We are pleased to share with you that Kadie (daughter of
Karmen and Tim McCain) was blessed with a new heart this week! Kadie is currently recovering like a rock
star. This has been an emotional time
for the family celebrating the “Gift of Life” they have received knowing that
another family is grieving the loss of a loved one. They want to share with all of us the need to
consider becoming a donor……..Give someone else the gift that will last a

It’s our 1st Friday and the
Blackhawk Football team will host Wagner in Springs today!!!! The Wessington Springs
Athletic Boosters and Spartan Girls Basketball team will be doing a tailgate
supper starting at 6:00 pm. Burgers, chips, and soda. The
football game will also be broadcast at following site: http://wessingtonspringsspartans.liveticket.tv/ and
Venture Channel 382. All HS FB players please report to the
WS gym by 5:30

7-12 VB is at SC today.
There will be a FFA meeting
on Monday, August 20th at 6:30 pm in Miss. Ronning's classroom at Sanborn
Central. Parents and students are both encouraged to attend to go over events
and policies for FFA this school year, as well getting to know Miss. Ronning.
Root beer floats will be provided!
If FFA members plan to show at the state fair, remember
that your paperwork needs to be postmarked today!

Wednesday, August 22nd Sports Pictures will be
taken in Woonsocket. The schedule is: 2:00PM-
Cross Country, 2:15PM- Woonsocket VB individuals, 2:15PM- SC VB will
depart, 2:45PM- JH VB individuals, 3:00PM- SC JH VB depart, Football will start
around 3:45PM with individuals for Woonsocket, 4:30PM Cheerleaders
Wednesday, August 22nd Katie S and
Samantha D will be attending Dakota Fest with Ms. Ronning.

We had to make a change to the JH/JV Football schedule.
New game schedule is attached. The change for JH and JV is the September
17 games vs. Stanley County. The
JV will now be playing Stanley County JV in Wessington Springs on September 17
at 4:30 pm. The JH will now be traveling to Stanley County on September
18 for a 4:30 pm game. This change is
to accommodate Woonsocket and Sanborn Central Coronations on September
17.

Gear is available once again. Orders are due August 29th – You

The SC Booster Club is hosting a Pampered Chef fund
raiser with proceeds going to the athletic
complex. Orders are due by September 5th. If someone
would rather look at a book I have them at the school. All checks can be made
out to Julie Bebout. There is a $5.25 shipping fee on each person's order,
orders will be sent to the SC Booster Club and distributed. If you would like
your order shipped directly to you there will be an additional shipping charge.
