Congratulations to Spens Schlicht & the Girl's 800M Relay team for being selected to compete in the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls on Saturday, May 5th.  The 800M Relay team of Trinity Boschee, Megan Poyer, Cassidy Slykhuis, & Caycee Guinn will compete at 11:35. Spens Schlicht will compete in the 300M Hurdles at 2:55.

Tuesday the track team traveled to Freeman to compete in the Don Diede Relays.  The boys finished 10th & the Girls finished 7th in team points. Congratulations to Erica Howard on throwing the discus 93-3 for a new SC/W team record.  Complete results can be found at

Don’t forget that there will be volleyball and boys’ basketball meeting at 2:30 today for all interested students in grades 6-11.

Good Luck to the Varsity Baseball team with their game in Springs tonight.  Saturday’s doubleheader against W/W/M/H will be in Springs at 1:00. Varsity first followed by JV.

Soccer for U8 & U12 Thursday night in Wessington Springs.  U8 games start at 5:15.  U8 teams will be the same as Monday nights.  U12 games start at 6:00. 

We have adjusted the breakfast menu for Friday, May 4th – We’re going to have Bagels instead of Pancakes!!!!

Yearbook order forms for personalization are due May 4th.  All others are due on May 14th.

ACADEMICS
Just a reminder that it’s is eligibility day.  Have you checked your portal lately for missing assignments?  Just days away from the end of the school year!!!

Join us at a special night acknowledging the academic and extracurricular success of the Rebel Blackhawks! We will also be honoring our retirees and their many years of dedication to our district! Candi Danek, Rich Danek, Joyce Everhart, Sheryl Ischen, and Deb Ogle have devoted numerous hours, years, and sweat in making Sanborn Central the best!

6th Salad, 7th Hot Dish, 8th Dessert, 9th Salad, 10th Hot Dish, 11th Hot Dish, 12th Dessert. Families with multiple students – bring the item listed for your oldest. Staff and Public may bring any item.
The award distribution and program will begin as soon as the last person has gone through the line.
Plates, silverware, napkins, and drinks will be provided.

ATHLETICS
2:30 there will be a meeting for all 6-11th students interested in playing basketball and/or volleyball.

Volleyball Camp forms for grades Kdg thru 5th (next year’s 1st thru 6th) will be handed to students this week.    They are due back on May 15th.

Change in the track schedule for Friday:  No JH Practice. HS will have a joint practice at Springs at 4:30.

FFA Members - Deadline to sign up for SD FFA Leadership Retreat is May 11th.

MUSIC
The 2018 vocal contest for 5th-8th grade students will be held on Wednesday, May 9th in the music room.  The contest will begin at 1:45.  Notes are being sent home this week with the schedule.

Huron Disc Golf League will begin regular season play on Sunday, May 6th at 3:00 pm at Memorial Park Disc Golf Course in Huron and will continue through the summer. League season fees are $15.  Contact Huron Disc Golf Club on Facebook for more details.

The Town N Kountry Kids Blue Group is sponsoring Internet Safety for Teens on Monday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Letcher Community Center.
