Orange Day
Good Luck to our Conservation Speech Contestants – Samantha Dean, Katie Schmit, and Aiden Wormstadt.  You will leave today at 1:30 with Mrs. Danek.

Congratulations to our 281 All Conference Basketball players:  GBB 1st team – Megan Poyer, 2nd Team Abby Doering, 3rd team Tesa Jensen, Honorable Mention Tristan Ziebart.  BBB 1st team Trey Weber, 2nd Team Trent Kingsbury and Noah Dickson.  You have each made us Blackhawk Proud!

Any student in grades 6-11 interested in playing soccer next fall needs to sign up in the office by noon today!

8th grade will have CPR training in the MS Lab from 12:30-3:00 today.

There will be a short play meeting at 3:20 in Mrs. Danek’s room today.

Baseball begins at 4:30 today in Springs in the gym.  Have fun!

Winterguard will practice at SC today.                        

The school board meets tonight at 7:00pm.

ACADEMICS
Just a reminder – grades go on the report cards no later than 8:00am on Thursday, March 15th – have everything turned in.  Teachers please let us know when you are done posting.

Due to technical difficulties you may or may not have received the Infinite Campus generated e-mail regarding missing assignments.  We are working with them to resolve the issue.  Be sure to check your parent portal.

FFA
Platte CDEs - Tuesday, March 13th Bus @ 7:55 a.m.    Notes: Members are required to bring a clipboard, pencil, calculator for select events, money for lunch.  Katie Schmit, Samantha Dean, Sarah Morgan, Teagan Swearingen, Harley Kneen, Amber Schelske, Madi Moody, Royce Hunter, Sawyer Senska, Austin Schmit, Aiden Wormstadt, Alex Wormstadt, Cayden Slykhuis, Trent Kingsbury, Cole Moody, Eric Ruml, Noah Dickson, Chloe Ruml       Please let Mr. Gross know ASAP if there is an error/change to this list.

Wednesday there will be a combined band rehearsal at SC from 8:45-10:45.  Attending are Dayton E, Brighten H, Mason M, Dana Schelske, Leighton T, Catherine B, Samantha D, Renee F, Madi M, Sarah M, Chloe R, Adriana S, Katie S, Abby V

Have you ever wondered what Winterguard is?  It’s a group of young ladies who practice long hours and very hard to compete just a few times.  Unfortunately, they travel to Minnesota for competition and Mother Nature has cancelled trips for them this year.  This past weekend they finally got to a competition – see the video at

ATHLETICS
Tracksters in grades 7-12 – you will have a short meeting with Coach Flatten at 10:50 on Wednesday, March 14th in his room.

Please return your boys basketball uniforms and your Willie Mac forms to Coach Rick Olsen at Sanborn Central and Coach Rod Weber at Woonsocket.  They are both due this Wednesday.

GBB Players – Where are your uniforms – McCain and Moody don’t have them!!!!!

COMMUNITY
Soccer forms are due in the office by Wednesday, March 14th.

Do you have any Cancer related T-shirts taking up room at your house?  If so, please consider donating them to T-Hugs (use for throws for cancer patients).  They can be dropped off at the Woonsocket Library, the Sanborn Central School in Forestburg, Zesto – 212 West 1st Ave – Mitchell, or Mary Ackman – 214 West Main – Letcher.

Bob Steckel (605-579-0120) and Tom Fridley will be hosting a hunt safe course at the Sanborn County 4-H Building April 5th, 6th, and 7th.  This course is open to anyone who will be 12 years old by December 31st.  A signup sheet is available in the office or you can register on-line https://gfpga.sd.gov/outdoor-learning/hunter-education/ClassList.aspx
