The Rock Solid Christmas Party cancelled yesterday will be held on December 20th.

December 13th has been declared ugly sweater contest day for staff and students at SC!

ATHLETICS
SBA will not be able to play a JV boys game on Saturday.  The games will start at 1:30 with the JVG followed by VG then VB.  The bus will leave SC at 11:45. SBA has advised us that the games will be available on their HS Cube https://thecube.com/event/764970

5/6th GBB players - A practice will be held tonight from 6 pm to 7:00 pm in Woonsocket.  If your child is not able to attend practice on Thursday evening but still wants to attend the game on Friday that is fine as we understand December is a busy month.

We will not go to Power Lifting at SF Lincoln on Saturday, December 9th.

The 3/4th girls basketball team will be attending the SDSU Women’s Basketball Game against Bowling Green at 7PM on December 9th.  Information was sent home with players or found at

MISCELLANEOUS 
 Exciting news! The Mt. Vernon and Plankinton Youth Wrestling Programs are consolidating to create one cohesive Titan Youth Wrestling Program. The Titan Youth Wrestling Program is open to boys and girls - Grades Pre-K to 6th. Children from surrounding communities are welcome to come out and join in the fun. We would love to have you on the team! - First Practice Tuesday, December 12th. 6:00 Beginners, 6:30 Advanced. - There will be a short parent/coach meeting on Tuesday, December 12th at 7:30 p.m. More information can be found at

The Deubrook Booster Club is announcing our 9th Annual Prom Dress Resale.  We are not only open two weekends but we have decided to add a Wednesday night to our sales dates.  Weekends are very busy for many people and we hope a Wednesday will provide another opportunity for shoppers.  Our 2018 sales dates are February 3, 4, 7, and 10 and will be held again at McKnight Community Hall on Main Street in White, SD. We have fourteen dressing rooms so we are equipped for busy shopping times.  We fully expect to have 500+ dresses on the sale again this year so there is something for everyone.  While our main focus is on prom dresses, we already have a large selection of short dresses for all occasions.  There is also a lot of information and pictures available on our Deubrook Prom Dress Resale Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/DHSPromDressResale/ https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ge2qN1zS5_ZsdoVfV6QZ4ZGkSE-ud1yK/view?usp=sharing

COMMUNITY
Letcher American Legion hosting a visit with Santa Saturday Dec 9 from 9:30- 11:30, cookies and hot cocoa and Santa will hand out goodie bags.  Saturday night the 9th, at 6:30 the Auxiliary will sell BBQ and pie with Turkey Bingo to start at 7:30. Come eat, play bingo and win a turkey.  Legion members are selling chances on $100, $50, & $25.

The Artesian Area WWTS (Walking With the Savior) youth group Christmas program is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 13th at 6:30 pm at the Artesian First Lutheran Church.  Jesus’ birthday will also be celebrated.  Lunch will be served following the program.  Everyone is welcome.

The Artesian Community Improvement Association will be holding their annual Ham Drawing/Membership Drive on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Artesian Community Center. Supper will be served at 6:30pm, with drawings and a visit from Santa Claus to follow!

Sanborn County 4-H Blue Group will be sponsoring a Community Christmas Party Saturday, December 16th at the Letcher Community Center.  A soup and sandwich supper will begin at 6:00 followed by Bingo with prizes!   Everyone is invited to help them celebrate the season!
