Blue Day

5/6^th G/B practice at Woonsocket today.

VB practices at SC today.  Tuesday the bus will leave at 3pm from Woony and 3:10 at Sanborn. Play at 5pm in Madison.  We’ve also received word that the Region VB games will be live streamed.

FB practices at Woonsocket today.

3rd & 4th grade boys will have practice tonight in Woonsocket @ 6:00 pm.

There will be a VB Pep Rally in Woonsocket tomorrow as we send them off to district play.  HS students will leave here around 2:00 (All Call)

There are NO FACEMASKS ALLOWED on Tuesday night at the volleyball game.

Tomorrow is a school spirit day as the Lady Blackhawks head to VB regions.

These students will be gone to District Oral Interp on Wednesday, November 1^st: Noah Dickson, Samantha Dean, Katie Schmit, Amber Schelske, Renee Farmer and Madi Moody. You will leave SC at 7:45.

There will be a Winter Guard meeting for any band students (7th-12th grade) interested in joining November 2 at 5:30 here at Sanborn.

Friday – November 3^rd Sanborn Central will host a Pep Rally at 2:30 to send the FB team off to the final playoff game.

An error was made on the November Calendar.  There are no 5/6^th ball games with Iroquois on November 9^th.

ACADEMICS

There will NOT be tutoring until Mrs. Miller returns from maternity leave.

Juniors and Seniors - If you are interested in being a 2018 Legislative Page please see Mrs. Johnson. Applications must be postmarked by November 6th so do not wait! 

Seniors – This week is Free College Application Week! During College Application Week, seniors at participating high schools are eligible for up to three free applications to South Dakota postsecondary institutions. Seniors can stop in Mrs. Johnson's office Thursday for useful information, timelines, help on applications, and a snack.

On Tuesday and Thursday, Madison High School will be livestreaming all games from the Region 4B Volleyball Tournament.

Unless approval has been gained through the SDHSAA, teams cannot livestream region matches.  On the Region 4B livestreams, the match score plus the game score will be displayed, along with the team names.  No play-by-play audio will be available with the livestream.

The game is being played at Bob Young Field (USF) in Sioux Falls.  It is just south of 69^th Street on Cliff Avenue.

Blackhawk fans will sit in bleachers on east side of field - Opposite of main grandstand.

HELPING

SCEA is working to collect clean, gently used warm coats and winter accessories from now until November 4th. The process is simple: you drop off your extra coat(s) in the box at Sanborn Central and SCEA takes care of the rest. All donated coats will be cleaned and made available for distribution to Sanborn Central students in need.     Mrs. Farmer

Dare to Make a road trip to the “Night of Horrors” at the Carthage Auditorium - Tuesday, October 31^st 7:30-9:30pm

There will be no Trick or Treating on Tuesday night in Artesian.

Mitchell Wesleyan Church is excited to announce that we will be holding our 2nd Annual Family Fall Blast! Last year’s event was a huge success, with over 1,600 people attending. It is our desire is to continue offering a safe, fun, and family-friendly place to enjoy Halloween in our community, regardless of what the weather is like outside.

Veterans Day dinner Sunday November 12, 2017 at 12pm at the Artesian Community Center.  The dinner is free for veterans and all others we ask a free will donation.  The dinner is sponsored by the Artesian American Legion Auxiliary and Legion.  Please RSVP to Laura Pearson at 605-999-2139 if you are planning on attending.
