Blue Day - Tutoring

Congratulations to our CBH Oral Interp placers – 5th in the Serious Division was Chloe Ruml, 6th in Humorous was Tater Moody, and Lily Overson and Alexis Kelly placed 6th in duets!

The Lady Blackhawks host MVP in Woonsocket today as they celebrate Cancer Awareness.  The JH matches begin at 4:00 followed by C/JV/V.  The games will be on the Woonsocket Santel Channel 104 and Woonsocket’s HS Cube (I believe) https://thecube.com/cube/woonsocket-high-school-01-woonsocket-south-dakota

5/6th G/B Basketball is at SC today.

Basketball Cheerleaders will be meeting at 11:35 today – Dana S, Amber S, Casady D, Emerson K, and Chloe R

Juniors and Seniors are in Woonsocket until approximately 2:00pm today for Junior Real.

Mr. Gross and FFA members are attending the National Convention this week.

Ms. Bratcher and Sidney Salas are attending Clarinet day at Northern today.  No Band or Lessons.  HS Band will report to Vickie’s room and 8th grade to Mrs. Ischen.  At 2:39 the 6th grade will report to Mrs. Ischen and 7th to Mrs. Vermeulen in Mr. McCain’s room for study hall.

Thursday is School Spirit Day – Do it Blackhawks!  We host Red Cloud in Springs with a 6:00 kick off!  We also know Q107 will be broadcasting the game http://q107radio.com/

ACADEMICS
HS Honor Roll and Report card distribution will be at 10:50 tomorrow in the commons.

Thursday will be our first eligibility of the quarter!

ATHLETICS

FB Practice schedule
Tuesday, Oct 24 – Practice in Woonsocket – 4:00 pm
    Wednesday, Oct 25 – Practice in Wessington Springs – 4:00 pm
  Thursday, Oct 26- game in Wessington Springs – 6:00 pm
Friday, Oct 27 – team meeting in Woonsocket – 4:00 pm
LSI along with all three booster clubs will be hosting a feed next Thursday.  They will make enough for the players from both teams! Each school will need to find 3 people to donate a pan of bars for the players’ meal. Gwyn will be in charge of Wessington Springs, Lynette will be in charge of Sanborn Central and Tara will be in charge of Woonsocket. So if you love to bake contact one of these people!!!

3/4th Boys will practice in Woonsocket at 6:00pm on Friday, October 27th.

The 5/6th girls will participate in the CBH Tourney on Saturday, October 28th.  We play Kimball at 9:00 at the old gym in Mt. Vernon.  Brackets can be found at


MUSIC
The following students will be attending All-State Chorus in Sioux Falls and will not be in school on Friday, October 27th:  Lucy Nicholson, Alexis Kelly, Kendra Morgan, and Harley Kneen.    On Thursday, October 26th, the All State bus will be leaving Woonsocket at 3:45 and Sanborn Central at 4:00.

HELPING
SCEA is working to collect clean, gently used warm coats and winter accessories from now until November 4th. The process is simple: you drop off your extra coat(s) in the box at Sanborn Central and SCEA takes care of the rest. All donated coats will be cleaned and made available for distribution to Sanborn Central students in need.     Mrs. Farmer

Mitchell Wesleyan Church is excited to announce that we will be holding our 2nd Annual Family Fall Blast! Last year’s event was a huge success, with over 1,600 people attending. It is our desire is to continue offering a safe, fun, and family-friendly place to enjoy Halloween in our community, regardless of what the weather is like outside.

Veterans Day dinner Sunday November 12, 2017 at 12pm at the Artesian Community Center.  The dinner is free for veterans and all others we ask a free will donation.  The dinner is sponsored by the Artesian American Legion Auxiliary and Legion.  Please RSVP to Laura Pearson at 605-999-2139 if you are planning on attending.

Veterans pot luck supper sponsored by Tormey-Stach #93, Letcher will be held Sunday November 12, at 6:00 pm. This is for all military present or past, and their families. A short program will be held after supper. Bring a dish to share. Drinks are furnished.
