See the green?  SC Students and staff are showing that we are responsible! We will be cleaning our desks and lockers proving our own cleanliness and making SC look more presentable! Tomorrow we wear yellow respectfully.

SCEA is working to collect clean, gently used warm coats and winter accessories (snow pants, boots, gloves, and hats) from now until November 4th. The process is simple: you drop off your extra coat(s) in the box at Sanborn Central and SCEA takes care of the rest. All donated coats will be cleaned and made available for distribution to Sanborn Central students in need.     Mrs. Farmer

MS Honor Roll will be held at 3:00 on Thursday in Mrs. Farmer’s room.

Parents of 8th grade students: As part of Bully prevention month we will be making efforts to reduce bullying, aggressive and mean behavior in Sanborn Central school district, we are planning a special movie experience in 8th grade guidance to view the documentary movie, BULLY.  A form will be sent home with your child granting permission to watch the movie.  Students without a signed permission slip returned by October 24th will not be allowed to watch the movie.  In the event that yours doesn’t make it home it can be found at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxqWDgwTHOqebENvbk9zZGhJRVE/view?usp=sharing

Tuesday – October 24th the Junior Class will be in Woonsocket for Junior Real Day. 

Athletics
 FB Schedule for the week:
      Thursday, October 19
o   Playoff game at Wessington Springs vs. MVP – 7:00 pm
      Friday, October 20
o   HS Practice at Woonsocket – 4:00 pm
 All JH FB players should work with coaches at their schools to get their equipment checked in.   

The Blackhawks will host MVP in Springs Thursday evening in the first round of FB playoffs.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.  The Blackhawk Parents will be serving both teams on Thursday Night after the football game.  Sanborn Central Parents- 1 pan of bars dropped off at the Springs Gym prior to the game Thursday. (If you can’t drop them off contact Lynette Kingsbury)

The volleyball girls are putting together baskets for the silent auction on Cancer Awareness Night next Tuesday, October 24th.  We have a representative from each class in charge of collecting the items for us and they are as follows: 7th grade - Tristan Jensen, 8th grade - Trista White, 9th grade - Ellie VonEye, 10th grade - Kaylee White, 11th grade - Erica Howard, and 12 grade - Abby Doering.  If you have any questions about this or anything else about the Cancer Awareness Night, please contact Carrie Howard or Bobbi White.

COMMUNITY
Veterans Day dinner Sunday November 12, 2017 at 12pm at the Artesian Community Center.  The dinner is free for veterans and all others we ask a free will donation.  The dinner is sponsored by the Artesian American Legion Auxiliary and Legion.  Please RSVP to Laura Pearson at 605-999-2139 if you are planning on attending.

Veterans pot luck supper sponsored by Tormey-Stach #93, Letcher will be held Sunday November 12, at 6:00 pm. This is for all military present or past, and their families. A short program will be held after supper. Bring a dish to share. Drinks are furnished.
