The Boys Blackhawks ended their regular season with a 14-6 record after defeating Wessington Springs Friday night 64-16.  Helping were:  Garrett:  6 pts, 7 reb, 4 ast, 1 st   Logun—10 pts, 3 ast, 1 st   Shaun—5 pts, 9 reb, 1 st    Wyatt—8 pts, 9 reb,2 ast, 3 blk   Trent—6 pts, 1 reb, 2 ast   Trey—15 pts, 8 reb, 3 awt, 1 st, 2 blk    Jared—2 pts, 3 reb,2 ast, 1 st     Spens—2 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast   Koby—3 pts   Noah—7 pts, 10 reb, 2 ast, 1 st     We shot 23/55 FG for 42% and 6/9 FT for 67%.  We had 50 rebounds, 19 assists, and 12 turnovers.   Coach Olson’s comments on regular season:  This group of young men had a lot of doubters before the season began on how good SCW would be.  They earned a lot of fans and opponents respect by playing hard and playing together. The boys 6 losses were to 17-3 Class A MVP, and the #1, #2, #4, and #5 Class B rated teams in the state.  I have a great amount of admiration for this group in the fact that we never had 2 bad practices in a row and there was only 1 game out of 20 where I felt we didn’t come ready to compete(both of these are hard to accomplish over a season).  This speaks loudly to the upperclassmen and their leadership.  We have had some unfortunate injuries the last few days but with this group’s determination we are looking forward to the post-season.

The March calendar and menus have been uploaded to our Google Drive.

JO VB meeting Sunday February 26 Woonsocket Commons for girls grades 5-10 at 4:00

ATTENTON BASKETBALL PLAYERS Boys and Girls Grades 1-12 – The following opportunity is available for our students to take advantage of should they want to: I have attached the flyer for Spring Workouts that will be taking place in Mt. Vernon starting this Sunday. If any of your kids/parents from your town have attended one of my workouts before I hope they pass on their thoughts. The feedback we received from our last time in Mt. Vernon was great so we are doing these workouts near you so you do not have to drive to Sioux Falls to participate in something like this. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. We have about 10 spots left in each group. It appears you must be pre-registered!  We are really big on competing, so the more players that attend the more we can compete. It is also good to compete with kids outside your school. Please pass this on to any of your athletes that have an interest in basketball.

FFA
FFA membership dues are $20 for this year.  The motion was passed by a majority vote of members.  Please bring your payment in to Mr. Gross.  Dues and any other money owed to the FFA must be turned before being able to attend Spring CDEs.  The first event is on March 3rd
