The Blackhawk Guys ended up 2nd
in the 281 Conference Tourney and the Lady Blackhawks came out with the
Championship. Regardless of a 1st
or 2nd place finish our Blackhawks have done nothing but make us
PROUD!!!!!
Girls
practice at SC and Boys at Woony today.
The bus
for the C Girls and JH Girls and Boys will leave SC at 3:25 today. The schedule for tonight in Wolsey is: JH girls game starts at 5pm followed by C-girls
(approx. 6pm) and then JH boys (approx. 7pm). CHANGE: C game at 5:00 followed by the 7-8 GBB game at 6:00 with the Boys
to follow!
Mrs.
Easton will be leaving at noon today. 6th
chorus will have SH with Mr. McCain at 1:53, 7th with Mrs. Farmer at
2:39, and 8th with Mr. Flatten at 2:39.
The JV
Boys are participating in the MCM Jamboree tomorrow. Their first game is at 9:00 with
Viborg/Hurley. Players need to be there at 8:30am. There will be
no bus!
Winterguard
Camp at SC tomorrow morning at 9:00!
Friday – January 27th – SC Gym –
7:00-9:00pm – an evening full of fun activities to encourage families to be
healthy and active. Grades K-5 /Parents
are welcome. Forms sent home with
students need to be returned by 1/25/17!
It is one-act
play time again and Mrs. Danek is looking for a few items. We need an old
fashioned tea pot, a beret, a doctor's bag, and a smock that a painter might
wear. If you have any of these things and the play could borrow

ATHLETICS
The 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th grade girls will be playing in
a jamboree in Woonsocket tomorrow starting at 10am. The public is welcome to
come and see these youth programs!

The
Blackhawk boys lost the 281 championship game to an experienced
Wolsey-Wessington team by a score of 59-46. The score was tied at 35 with
6 minutes to go but the boys went cold and W-W took the lead.

pts, 3 reb, 1 blk Logun—10 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast
Trent—6 pts, 8 reb, 2 ast Trevor—17 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast,
1 st Trey-- 5 pts,8 reb, 2 ast
We shot 17/56 FG for 30% and 6/9 FT for 67%. We outrebounded
them 43-32. Coach Olson’s comments: We picked a bad night to
shoot poorly. Our defense played well and we finished possessions by
rebounding the ball. We only had 5 turnovers so we played cleanly that
way as well. I am super proud of the boys in their effort to even have a
chance to win this game when we missed so many shots. When the game was
tied at 35 they scored on straight possessions and we missed 3 layups and two
short jumpers that bounced off. Overall, the boys have played extremely well in
this tough stretch winning 4 out of 5 games in the last 9 days.

THE
FRIENDS OF THE WOONSOCKET COMMUNITY LIBRARY are having a used book sale at the
Woonsocket School Commons on Tuesday, January 24th will run from 11:30 am to
8:00 pm in conjunction with Hanson vs. Sanborn Central Woonsocket basketball
games. There are lots of Children through Adult hard cover and paperback
books, some magazines, videos, audio and 1952, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 59 & 60
Woonsocket School Annuals. The purchase price is a monetary donation to
the Friends of the Library. If inclement weather should close school and
cancel games, the sale will take place on February 10th. Call Pat

Josh Mueller and Garrett Callahan (ex-SDSU great) our expanding
our basketball academy and have been allowed to use Mt. Vernon as a home base
in your area. Attached is a flyer for our team tryouts next Sunday (Jan 29th)
for grades 3-8 boys and girls. This could be a great opportunity for your
youth without having to drive all the way to Sioux Falls for something like
this. We have staff that include Jordan Miller (ex Mitchell and SMSU
great) Micheal Tviedt (ex-NDSU) and many other former high school and college

clinics that we can bring to your school. Our schedule is filling up
