Orange Day - Tutoring
Happy Birthday Sydney Richardson on Saturday!!  Sunday is Mrs. Foster’s special day.

Failing Grades and Missing assignment reports will be ran at noon today! Parents will be notified at 1:00 that you will need to be here on Friday, October 7th from 8:00-11:00! Students with F's have to stay the entire time whereas if a student finishes all their missing work and does not have an F they can leave when their work is done...

Good Luck to the Lady Blackhawks as they travel to TDA today.  The Bus will leave SC at 2:30.  4:00 finds the 7th grade hitting the court followed by 8th, C, JV, and V!

Attending marching band practice this morning are: Catherine, Breanne, Garrett, Samantha, Chloe, Renee, Trent, Koby, Madi, Sarah, Kayla, Trevor, Adriana, Austin, Katie, Myah, Abby, Maddie, Alexis, Dayton, and Ellie.

The Board meeting for Monday, October 10th has been moved from 7:00pm to 7:00am due to the VB games being re-scheduled.

ACADEMICS
The Financial Aid Night scheduled for Monday, October 10th is in the process of being re-scheduled due to VB games.

Saturday’s volleyball games at Freeman have been moved to Monday, October 10th.  The C game will begin at 5:00 followed by the JV and Varsity games.  Bus will leave Woony at 2:50 and SC at 3:00.

Thursday – October 13th is Dig Pink Night at KWL!  They will have silent auctions and concession stand specials!


FFA
Loan Opportunities
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers youth loans for FFA and 4H members. The loan, of up to $5000, must be for the purchase of livestock, seed, equipment, and other supplies. The loan must be put towards a project that will be supervised by the FFA Advisor or 4H advisor. SCW FFA will be seeking individuals to help judge at the District 4 Leadership Development Events.  If you would be interested in helping judge an event like Ag Sales, Parliamentary Procedure, or Extemporaneous Speaking, please email Mr. Gross at shane.gross@k12.sd.us.

HEALTH
MS/HS Students – make sure that you take your flu shot forms home!!!!

Flu shot forms are being sent home with elementary students this week.  Forms were placed on every middle school and high school locker last night. Forms need to be returned by Thursday, October 13th.  Flu shots will be given on October 27th. Students – please make sure your parents see these.  Extra forms are available in the office.

JUNIORS
The Longest Yard", the juniors are selling yard lines for the Blackhawk Football game on Thursday, Oct. 20th vs. Hitchcock-Tulare at SC.  For $10, you get a yard line.  If the last play of the first half ends on that yard line, (regardless of what end) you will receive $100!  The juniors will automatically get the 50 yard line but end zone through 49 are available.  If the last play of the half is a touchdown, the end zone will receive the cash, or if a player is tackled at the 21 yard line as time expires, the person with the 21 yard line wins, etc. (Extra Point/2 point conversions will not count as yard lines, but as end zone).​  You can talk to a junior, or email Mrs. Susan Farrell-Poncelet at susan.farrell-poncelet@k12.sd.us to reserve a yard line.  Also, the board will be at the volleyball game at SC on Tuesday, the 11th.

Juniors are fundraising for prom! We are starting sales of magazines and several other purchase options. MUSIC
Friday the SCW Marching Band will participate in the Lake Area Festival of Bands – 30+ Bands!  The bus will leave SC at 7:15 and should be back around 3:00.  Members need to bring me $6 for their meal on Friday. Students need to wear black socks, black shirt, and athletic shorts with their uniform. Tickets for the All-State Chorus and Orchestra performance will go on sale on October 18th. Schools will be notified of their quartet section assignments, as well as their participating members in the orchestra by October 18th. Once the orchestra audition results are released, you may send in your ticket requests to the Denny Sanford Premier Center Box Office. Ticket prices will be:  $19 - Reserved Sections, $14 – Adults, $8 - Students
