Missing assignment reports will be ran at noon today and distributed to students.  If assignments aren’t turned in by noon on Thursday, October 6th – parents will be notified that you will need to be here on Friday, October 7th from 8:00-11:00!  Students with F's have to stay the entire time whereas if a student finishes all their missing work and does not have an F they can leave when their work is done.

9-12 VB is at Woonsocket today.                  HS FB is also at Woonsocket today.

WWTS meets in Artesian today.    Sonshine Club/Confirmation at the Letcher Church today. 

Congratulations to the Cross Country team!!!!!  Varsity Boys:  (64 runners) - Spens---9th overall - 8th in B schools; Austin--27th overall - 24th in B schools.  Varsity Girls:  (44 runners) - Sydney--3rd overall - 2nd in B schools; Trinity--36th overall - 30 in B schools; Megan--43rd overall - 37th in B schools.  JV Boys:  (44 runners) - Malachi-- 6th overall - 4th in B schools; Braxton--19th overall - 13th in B schools; Tator--22nd overall - 15th in B schools; Brayden--30th overall - 20th in B schools.   Next meet is Regions in Gettysburg on Wednesday, Oct. 12th!!!

This week is 4H week and some of our older members have been spreading 4H cheer with treats and information to our elementary classes.  In honor of 4H week, the students have been asked to wear green on Thursday!!  If anyone is interested in joining a 4H group, contact Madi Moody, Cole Moody or Chloe Degen, we would love to have new members!

The Character Counts Board is ready to go!!!!  If you are holding one – please come in and see Mary!!!!!

Flu shot forms are being sent home with elementary students this week.  Forms were placed on every middle school and high school locker last night. Forms need to be returned by Thursday, October 13th.  Flu shots will be given on October 27th. Students – please make sure your parents see these.  Extra forms are available in the office.

A few items that were in the lost and found are being displayed by the MS lab – if it’s yours please take it!

Juniors are fundraising for prom! We are starting sales of magazines and several other purchase options. FFA
Loan Opportunities
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers youth loans for FFA and 4H members. The loan, of up to $5000, must be for the purchase of livestock, seed, equipment, and other supplies. The loan must be put towards a project that will be supervised by the FFA Advisor or 4H advisor. If you are a resident of BEADLE County, you may be eligible for a livestock loan of up to $10,000 through Beadle and Spink Enterprise Community (BASEC). Other Requests
SCW FFA will be seeking individuals to help judge at the District 4 Leadership Development Events.  If you would be interested in helping judge an event like Ag Sales, Parliamentary Procedure, or Extemporaneous Speaking, please email Mr. Gross at shane.gross@k12.sd.us.

MUSIC
Attending marching band practice Thursday morning are: Catherine, Breanne, Garrett, Samantha, Chloe, Renee, Trent, Koby, Madi, Sarah, Kayla, Trevor, Adriana, Austin, Katie, Myah, Abby, Maddie, Alexis.

Friday the SCW Marching Band will participate in the Lake Area Festival of Bands – 30+ Bands!  The bus will leave SC at 7:15 and should be back around 3:00.  Members need to bring me $6 for their meal on Friday. Students need to wear black socks, black shirt, and athletic shorts with their uniform. Tickets for the All-State Chorus and Orchestra performance will go on sale on October 18th. Schools will be notified of their quartet section assignments, as well as their participating members in the orchestra by October 18th. Once the orchestra audition results are released, you may send in your ticket requests to the Denny Sanford Premier Center Box Office. Ticket prices will be:  $19 - Reserved Sections, $14 – Adults, $8 - Students


COMMUNITY
