Happy Teacher Appreciation Week - Mrs. Whitney has declared the rest of the school year as School Spirit Week!

Congratulations to everyone who tried out for our Dakota Players production of “You Look Marvelous”.  The rehearsal schedule can be found in the miscellaneous folder of our Google Drive.

Good Luck to the track team as they travel to Miller today for a meet.   Chloe D, Austin S, Sawyer S, Koby L, Weston B, Logun F, Alex W, Eric R, Abby V, Catherine B, Kayla O, Maddie V, and Sarah M

Good Luck to our golf team as they leave at noon for competition in Springs - Trevor Olson, Trent Kingsbury, Dillon Moore, and Garrett Dean.

Starting today the 7th grade band students will join the 8-12 band at 11:35. 7th non-band study hall will meet with Ms. Farrell-Poncelet at 11:35.  7th Language will be held at 2:39 on Blue days.  6th non-band students will report to Mrs. Miller.

HS Students signed up to give blood tomorrow are:  Catherine, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Breanne, Maddie, Devin, Byron, Dillon, Quentin, Tom, Logan, Weston, Tyler, Koby, Trent, and Aaron.  You make us Rebel Proud Gals & Guys!

There will not be WWTS at 1st Lutheran in artesian due to play rehearsal tomorrow after school.

Circus thank yous are due tomorrow.  I have yet to receive one from any of the 6th grade students who took tickets!!!!!

The 4th & 5th grade students head out on their field trip tomorrow – have fun and represent us well!!!

Wanted……..Blackhawk football cheerleaders.  If you are going to be in grades 9-12 next year and want to share your Blackhawk Pride……see Mary prior to May 12th!!!!

COMMUNITY
The staff at Sanborn Central would like to thank the Country Pumper Crew for the marvelous rolls yesterday morning.  It’s the thoughtfulness of people like you who make our job so rewarding!

Don’t forget the blood drive tomorrow at the 4-H Building!!!!!!!!

ACADEMICS
Awards night is quickly approaching – May 9thSeniors will bring Desserts, Juniors Salads, Sophomores Main Dish, Freshman Main dish, 8th grade Salads, 7th grade Desserts, and 6th grade Main Dishes.  Staff may bring a salad or dessert.

FFA
Mr. Gross is seeking a Letcher FFA Jacket for permanent or long term display in the Ag Room.  Please contact him at the school.   Shane.gross@k12.sd.us

The FFA has two National FFA bronze awards from the Sanborn Central FFA Horse Judging team from 2005.  If you know who should have these, please contact Mr. Gross.

Mr. Gross will be putting on an informational night for parents about Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs).  This informational night will cover the following:
          What is an SAE
          The types of SAEs (Entrepreneurship, Placement, or Agribusiness)
          The expectations of SC/W FFA members as related to SAEs (during the school year and the summer)
          How to access the record keeping system the FFA uses (www.theaet.com)
          How to enter basic SAE records
          FFA awards from SAE projects (proficiency awards, SD FFA Star awards)
More information will be released next week on the specifics on date(s) and location(s). Please email Mr. Gross if you have any questions.

BREAKING NEWS
The removal of the south bleachers and the installation of the new ones is complete.  The decking (flooring) was replaced on the north bleachers, also.  It was simply amazing at how quickly the work was completed and how it makes the gym look so much better.  They started last Wednesday morning about 10:00 and left at 10:00 on Friday morning.  There is a folder of pictures taken during the whole process.  Here is the link:​
