ATHLETICS
The Boys Blackhawk BB team won the CBH Conference with a perfect 5-0 record with a 69-48 victory over Mitchell Christian last night. This is only the 3rd time in history (2014, 1988) the boys have won this conference.  Helping the cause:    Trey-3 pts, 1 ast     Dillon-13 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 2 st       Garrett Dean- 1 reb     Tucker-15 pts,3 reb, 10 ast, 2 st    Trent-5 pts, 2 reb 4 ast, 1 st   Josh-9 pts,5 reb, 2 ast, 3 st, 1 blk   Jastyn- 4 pts,    Garrett Larson-4 pts,    Brady- 11 pts, 3 reb, 2 st, 1 blk   Rex- 2 pts,3 ast     Wyatt-3 pts,1 reb, 3 st      We shot 29/54 FG for 54% and 5/9 FT for 56%.  We were outrebounded 26-18 but forced 24 turnovers to our 11.  Coach Olson’s comments:  Congrats to the guys for winning a tough conference.  This game last night was typical of what we try to do.  Keep constant pressure on opponents and eventually wear them down.  Offensively we moved the ball well and got open looks at the basket-we just didn’t make them the first half. I think we were a little intimidated by their 6’10” post blocking our shot.  But we attacked the zone gaps quicker the second half and were able to finish to open up a good lead.  Our pressure defense eventually created some turnovers and we also got some points in transition before having to face that zone.  Our next game vs. Wessington Springs will also have a 281 conference title on the line.

The schedule for the MS Round Robin to be held on February 20th at SC has been uploaded to our Google Drive – Athletics – Basketball
