February 10, 2016

Wednesday – February 10, 2016
Orange day
Happy Birthday Owen Moran and Ms. Fisher!
Just a reminder that eligibility is pulled at noon tomorrow - Get your missing assignments turned in to stay off the list and have positive parent conferences!

We are having issues with chrome book chargers being left at home and students grabbing chargers not belonging to them.  Each student is responsible for their own charger that is assigned to their chrome book.  Students have until this Thursday, February 11th, to make sure that each charger is back here at school.   If this problem is not fixed by Thursday, ALL chrome books will be taken away for a week, or until all chargers are accounted for. – Mr. Siemsen

What a great day for the Rebels – we have students representing us at the vocal contest and the small business plan competition!  We know that each of you will make us proud!:  Bailey M, Madi M, Maddie V, Tamra M, Abby V, Renee F, Adriana S, Breanne B, Koby L, Cole M, Alex W, Sawyer S, Weston B are attending the vocal and Byron Jessen and Logan Effling are in Pierre!

There will be no vocal music today.  Seniors you will have privileges and HS students will report to Ms. Fox in study hall.  6th grade will report to Mrs. Farmer at 1:53 and 7/8th to Mrs. Vermeulen for study halls.

Girls practice at SC and Boys at Woonsocket.

The Boys Blackhawks took down the Iroquois Chiefs last night by a score of 76-21.  Thirteen players scored and were helped by:  Dillon- 5pts,7 reb, 2 ast, 1 st    Trevor-5 pts,1 ast, 4 st   Trey- 8 pts,1 reb   Tucker-4 pts,3 re, 7 ast,2 st   Trent-4 pts, 2 reb, 3 ast, 1 st  Josh-5 pts, 1 reb, 3 ast, 1 st     Logun-1 ast    Jared-2 pts,1 st   Jastyn-10 pts, 3 reb,1 ast, 1 st   Garrett Larson-8 pts,1 reb  Brady-14 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast, 1 st    Shay- 2 pts,1 reb    Rex-5 pts   Wyatt-4 pts,2 reb  Garrett Dean-1 reb.   We shot 32/59 FG for 54% and 6/9 FT for67%.  Coach Olson’s comments:  It was nice to get a lot of kids some court time.  We put some different combinations out there and they did well.  In games like this teams sometimes over-pass because they want to get everyone involved instead of taking the proper shot and we had moments like that as well but overall we wanted the guys to play hard with the minutes they got and I thought they responded.  We have a tough weekend coming up with the long trip to an explosive Highmore team and then the short turnaround with a big Parkston team.

The Woonsocket and SC Boosters are selling Blackhawk apparel.  The deadline is Thursday, February 11 to order.  Checks can be made to the SC Booster Club.  Order forms are available in the office and in the Google drive under the Athletics tab or by following this link:

Cold and snowy February
Does seem slow and trying, very.
Still, a month made gay by Cupid
Never could be wholly stupid.
