Blue Day

Happy Birthday Cordell Nicholson!

Congratulations to the SCW Blackhawk VB team as they beat Wessington Springs 3-0 last night in District play.  Tonight they take on JVC for the Championship of District 6 at 7:00pm in Wessington Springs.  Be there to cheer for a Blackhawk victory!  If they win they will play for the Region 3 Championship game against the winner of District 5 on Tuesday night to advance to the State Volleyball Tournament in Sioux Falls on November 19-21.

HS FB will practice at Springs today!

Monday Nov. 9th is District 4 FFA Leadership CDEs at MTI.  We will be leaving Woonsocket at 1 p.m. and Sanborn Central at 1:15 p.m.  Please let FFA members out 15 minutes before leave time so that they can change into Official Dress.  The FFA District is starting CDEs earlier this year in hopes of not keeping students out so late.   Students attending:   Madi Moody, Jena Hanson, Catherine Bechen, Abby Vermeulen, Tyler Johnson, Garrett Dean, Trent Kingsbury, Trevor Olson

On November 24th, Mrs.  Moody would like to take the freshmen and sophomores to the Sanford Research Lab for a tour and to meet with 2 scientists, one that researches bone cancer and one that researches sports effect on TBI's or concussions.  She is looking for 3 volunteers to transport students.  The volunteers will be a part of the tour and receive lunch.  Please contact her at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us if you are interested in helping out.

The SC Booster Club is selling stadium chairs just in time for basketball season!  Order forms were sent home with elementary students yesterday.  They can also be found in our Google Drive in the miscellaneous folder.  Orders are due in the office by November 11^th!

MUSIC

Students: The Blackhawks Band is looking for a design to go on their new trailer (It’s Black)!! All designs are welcome. Designs will be due Monday morning Nov. 16th when they will be voted on. Winner will receive pizza party for themselves and up to 4 friends!! ​ The new design will be unveiled at the Indoor Marching Band Concert Monday Nov. 16th.

COMMUNITY

Sanborn Central would like to extend an invitation to all area veterans and community members to attend out Veteran’s Day Program at 9:00 am on November 11^th.

The Artesian Veteran’s Day Dinner will be held at noon on November 8^th at the Artesian Community Center.  It is free for Veteran’s with a $10 charge for all others.  The meal will include a pork tenderloin sandwich with all the trimmings.  Please RSVP to Laura Pearson at 495-4290 or Carol Hendrix at 527-2267
