Hats off to American Education Week! We are so proud of all our staff and students for making Sanborn Central the #1 school!

Join the SCW Marching Band for their concert tonight and enjoy the pie and ice cream served.  The social begins at 6:00 with the band performance starting at 7:00 in the Sanborn Central gym.

There is a football meeting at 3:45 in Woony today for HS football players.

BAND STUDENTS:  8-12th Band Students need to be at Sanborn Central at 6:30pm.  They need to have black socks and their band shirt. At 6:30pm, students will change into band uniform and tune instruments.

Due to the gym being set up for the concert – volleyball practice will be in Woonsocket today.

Tomorrow is Administration, Teacher, and Support staff day at Sanborn Central.  You may wear your favorite team jersey with blue jeans!   Wednesday is Pupil Day at Sanborn Central (pajamas, pop, and popcorn)

ACADEMICS
Good Luck to Renee’ Farmer and Madi Moody as they compete in the Region Oral Interp tomorrow!

Good Luck to our Quiz Bowl team as they meet Wagner in the Q107 Quiz Bowl tomorrow at 10:20 Logan Effling, Tom Hetland, Devin Garrett, Myah Selland (Alternate), and Byron Jessen (Alternate).  

Seniors – don’t forget the financial aid night tomorrow evening at Sanborn Central beginning at 6:00.

To accommodate for lost time, we will have school on November 25th with a 1:30 dismissal, December 22nd we will have a full day of school, December 23rd we will dismiss at 11:00 for Christmas Break.

ATHLETICS
In Basketball action over the weekend - The junior high girls lost 3 games at the Hanson Tournament on Saturday.  1st game-  Canistota 19   SC/Woon 13     Kaylee White 5 pts and Macey Kempf - 4 pts
                   2nd game Freeman 42  SC/Woon  19  Mariah Jost - 6pts and Kaylee White - 5 pts
                   3rd game Menno 21  SC/Woon  18  Katie Schmit - 8 pts and Mariah Jost 4 pts.

In case you haven’t heard the Lady Blackhawks are going to STATE!!!  Theme days have been established as Red, White, and Blue for Thursday; Neon Colors on Friday, and Black Out for Blackhawks on Saturday.  We wish you the best of luck and lots of memory making times!

All 3 days of the state volleyball tournament will be aired on Santel Channel 3 – Go Blackhawks!

Monday, November 23 – JH and HS football team awards banquet – Woonsocket – 6:30 pm
We invite all 7-12 grade players, their parents, fans and community Woonsocket gym for banquet and awards.   Along with HS awards we will have some JH awards as well.  More information to be sent later this week about the awards night as we will be asking parents bring some items for banquet.

Local Modern Woodmen of America members are sponsoring this fundraiser.  All proceeds raised from this project will be matched by Modern Woodmen up to $2500.00.  For more information contact Stacey Malde, Activities Coordinator, 605-732-4340.


FFA
Wessington Springs FFA is hosting a Donkey Basketball tournament on December 4th at 7 p.m. in the W.S. gym.  Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA will be taking on W.S. FFA in the first round. Second round matches the W.S. staff against the FFA alumni.  The winner of each round will then face off in a championship game.  The community is welcomed and encouraged to attend and cheer on their team. Advance tickets are $6, tickets at the door are $8, and pre-schoolers get in free.  All proceeds will be donated to the food pantry.  FFA Members, please talk to Mr. Gross if you are interested in being on our FFA Donkey Basketball team.  You must be older than 16 and weigh less than 225 lbs.
