Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA participated at District 4 CDEs held at Mitchell Technical Institute.  The following teams will advance on to SD FFA State Leadership CDEs December 6th - 7th.  Sr. Parliamentary Procedure - 2nd President - Aaron Linke, Vice President - Tyler Johnson, Secretary - Nathan Linke, Treasurer - Garrett Dean , Reporter - Trent Kingsbury, Sentinel - Trevor Olson, Student Advisor - Bailey Schmiedt.  Ag Issues - 2nd Team Members - Tristan Ziebart, Callie Bezpaletz, Abby Doering, Jared Goldammer.  In addition, Aaron Linke will serve the District 4 FFA as the District Reporter for 2015-2016.

Are you ready for some V-Ball? Lady Blackhawks host Arlington at Sanborn Central tonight at 7 in the region championship and we BELIEVE in a victory once again. Be there as they show off the skills that will get them to state! BLACKHAWK PRIDE! (Not aired on Santel Channel)

There will be a VB Pep Rally at 2PM today at SC to set the tone for tonight!  The public is welcome.

5/6th G/B practice in Woonsocket today.

This week is National Caring Rose Week.  You can purchase a dozen roses for $10 and 2 food items for our local food pantry.  Roses can be picked up at school at home Region Volleyball game Tuesday, at school on Wednesday or at the Cancer Tournament on Saturday.  If interested, contact Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us

ACADEMICS
On November 24th, Mrs.  Moody would like to take the freshmen and sophomores to the Sanford Research Lab for a tour and to meet with 2 scientists, one that researches bone cancer and one that researches sports effect on TBI's or concussions.  She is looking for 3 volunteers to transport students.  The volunteers will be a part of the tour and receive lunch.  Please contact her at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us if you are interested in helping out.

ATHLETIC
5/6 BB has been cancelled for Thursday due to FB 9AA championship at Vermillion.

There will be a Pep Rally in Woonsocket at 10:30am, Wednesday, November 11th to send the football team off to the dome!  This is open to the public.  HS students will be bussed over (No need to drive).  MS and EL students are welcome to go if parents with their parents.

Due to the HS Students attending the pep rally in Woonsocket tomorrow, MS students will eat lunch first and the HS students will eat when they return.

Wessington Springs will be taking a Fan bus for HS & MS Students to the dome on Thursday.  If you’d like to ride, please contact Mary for further information!

We are having a celebration get together for the Blackhawk football players and coaches at the Old Lumber Company on the second floor (there is an elevator for those who need it) in Vermillion on Thursday starting around 5:30 or whenever the game is over.  All family and fans of the Blackhawks are welcome.  We will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, chips, and a salad.  There will be a free will donation box-suggested meal price is $10.  You will be responsible for purchasing your own drinks, other than water.  The address to the Old Lumber Company is 15 Court Street, Vermillion.  There is a parking lot on the South side of the building.

BOOSTER
The SC Booster Club is selling stadium chairs just in time for basketball season!  Order forms were sent home with elementary students yesterday.  They can also be found in our Google Drive in the miscellaneous folder.  Orders are due in the office by November 11th!

BAND
Next week Monday, there will be a combined band rehearsal at Sanborn Central from 8:30am to 10:30am for the Indoor Marching Band Concert that evening.

Every 8-12 band student at SC is asked to bring one 9 inch pie to school on Monday, November 16th!

Students: The Blackhawks Band is looking for a design to go on their new trailer (It’s Black)!! All designs are welcome. Designs will be due Monday morning Nov. 16th when they will be voted on. Winner will receive pizza party for themselves and up to 4 friends!! ​ The new design will be unveiled at the Indoor Marching Band Concert Monday Nov. 16th.
